I try to crank again and no start. no spark, no fuel. Starter motor is turning engine over, there is plenty of power from battery, but just no start. I was supposed to be at my grandmothers funeral in an hour, but no such luck. So I started with the obvious. -Battery-OK(brand new) -Checked all Fuses-OK -Checked Ignition coil(new MSD coil) plenty of spark. -
Random choice ? - Replacement (proper) 4*4 1 Nov 2017 (Forum)
There's at least one leaky injector, 2 glow plugs are definitely not working (got tested last week), the battery it on it's way out, one hub bearing sounds decidedly unhappy, there's a horrendous amount of rust appearing on the underside (in spite of me doing a decent annual treatment), there's corrosion on brake lines, and (most worryingly of all) the electrics have been flaky for the last few months - and this is definitely NOT down to the battery, it's killed one battery already this year. -
Vauxhall Astra 2006 1.8 - Car will not start! argh! 22 Apr 2016 (Forum)
The car now refuses to start, I can use the Radio/lights/wipers everything, it all feels like it is working fine, but it will not start, I am wondering if the power sounder battery being low would cease the car from starting? when I turn the ignition, I can hear a faint click but nothing after it, which leads me on to either; The battery not having enough power to kick it. -
Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005) - 02 1.9TDi 130 Avant brake failure 23 May 2012 (Forum)
Have taken the car to Audi today and they have confirmed water has entered the servo and master cylinder, cost to replace £780 including 10% discount! The water gets into the servo via the plenium chamber (battery area). This surface water is meant to drain away via a 'plug hole' located under the battery. As this plug hole is impossible to access without taking the battery out and the fact you would not be aware of its existence, it gets blocked and therefore causes the problem. -

the joys of the small claims court 19 May 2004 (Forum)
I have an expert report saying that the damage to the car\'s alternator, wiring etc. was likely caused by the incorrect use of a battery charger (i.e. the leads the wrong way round) and in their defence statement, they did state that a battery charger was used. They have ignored all my attempts to get a response out of them apart from one very abusive (a *lot* of swearing) telephone call to tell me where to go. -
Safety Recall - Honda Ignition Switch 29 Jul 2003 (Forum)
(for information car has always been main dealer serviced until last service and MOT carried out at the beginning of this month, timing belt was changed by dealer at 5 yrs as recommended, and I had a new battery earlier this year. Have also had tyres and wiper blades - that\'s all) Safety recall says: \"some vehicles were manufactured with ignition switches that can wear prematurely and this may lead to difficulty starting the car\" (well, I did have some difficulties, which I presumed were battery related, and having changed the battery no longer experience them - sometimes car had stood a while and only done a few miles, now it\'s used more frequently and on longer journeys) \"in some cases it is possible that the switch might fail and that your engine may stall without warning\" I\'m obviously going to get it booked in asap, don\'t think my car has any problems, but who knows. -

Renault Kadjar - Renault dealer problem 19 Nov 2023 (Forum)
Wife's 67 plate Kadjar 22000 miles, when in warranty stop/start engine hazard light on, into Renault and told just needed reset so all fine, year later out of warranty same light comes on due to faulty battery. Renault dealer can't change battery for a month so get it done independently. Put it into Renault to get any other possible faults diagnosed. Had the car full day (£142) and told "it needs a higher technician to look at it" so need to keep it a second day, not happy as I need it to get to cancer treatment next day. -
