  • None - Bus and Coach drivers 9 May 2011 (Forum)
I'm trying to find out what car drivers think of bus drivers and coach drivers. Is there and difference in driving standards between bus drivers and coach drivers and is their driving generally good or bad? Would you be embarrassed to tell your mates you did bus or coach driving for a living?
  • Driving Licenses 20 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Interested in the latest  HJ response regarding plastic and/or paper driving licenses for hiring cars abroad. I have hired cars many times abroad on business using the paper license only: in fact I don't even have a plastic one. The paper one plus passport seems to work well enough ....
  • Computer Related Questions - Volume 153 (Locked) 15 May 2008 (Forum)
Sorry if this a dumb question, but if I copy the entire contents of my C drive to a freestanding external hard drive, then I attach that drive to another computer, will I be able to run the all the programs and data that I ran on my 'donor' computer?
  • The drink-drive BAC limit. 16 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Apparently the govt. are considering reducing the limit, as too many people are crashing due to drink-driving over the current limit. From The Daily Telegraph: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2007/06/15/ndrink115.xml How is this going to help in any way at all? Confused,

  • Driving with mouth open! 14 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I had to chuckle at the motoring sheets in the Sunday Times today when they asked people to name the most irritating drivers. The one that tickled my chuckle bones? "Avoid people driving with hats, especially flat caps. And, why do they always seem to have their mouth open"? God, that is sooooooooo true
  • High performance driving course? 18 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I remember reading an article a couple of years back in the Times motoring section, about courses to teach safe, fast driving of high performance cars which is donein your own car, on roads not track. Does anyone know who this was, or can anyone recommend something similar? Thanks!

  • PHOTO CARD DRIVING LICENCES 29 Jun 2001 (Forum)
I was 'told' by a colleague this morning, that photocard driving licences are going to be made compulsory. I was under the belief that if I receive no convictions, remain healthy, and do not move house, I could keep the same licence until I am 70 years old? Am I wrong?
  • I'm 73, so why is my insurance premium almost as high as that of a new driver? 6 Dec 2017 (Ask HJ)
Why is my insurance ever increasing to that of new driver levels? Is it because of my age (73), rather than my driving experience?
  • Why can't I renew my over-70s driving licence online? 16 Apr 2021 (Ask HJ)

  • Honda Jazz - Uncomfortable/Unsafe Driving Positions 20 Jul 2021 (Forum)
I don't know of its the seat or the steerling wheel. I just cannot find a comfortable position and am forced to drive with my left arm only which is unsafe. I don't have the problem when I was driving other makes (Peugeot/Citroen/Volvo). Its just seems to be with MY car (which was originally my ex-wife's car).
  • Driving standards following lockdown 14 Apr 2021 (Forum)
This isn't your typical "all the drivers around me are m****s" thread.  Or rather, I'm the m****. After hardly driving for a year, I'm very aware that I need to concentrate more on my driving as I restart.  As an example, I'd forgotten how to engage the cruise control.  Fortunately, it only took a few seconds to remember - and it set me thinking - I hadn't used it for over a year.
