• Any - Eyseight /getting older/not changing car 16 Mar 2025 (Forum)
  I had my routine hospital check for the macular degeneration yesterday and  no need for further injections, nothing to worry about, but a loss of some photoreceptors.  Consultant says  maybe up to a few years more driving, but 6 monthly checkups. On reflection, Have decided not to replace the Korando and will use it till whichever one of us is not happy driving. Actually relieved to know, so can plan accordingly.

  I bought a car in Somerset from a trader, ive had it for 4 months and the engine light just stayed on after buying it so returned the car to the trader he then reset it, but the engine light came on again, took it to a garage they checked it over some issues with sensors, so then engine light went off ok , but a couple of days later back on, then the car stopped whilst driving it, had to try ignition, came back on, but that was concerning, so took it to garage again, they drive it round and did the same thing, but this time did not start up at all. The timing chain has gone, so the engines had it.

  Hello, I have recently had an issue where by breaks stopped working on the motorway and drive with an oil warning light for a few miles before I could pull over. I have since learnt of the issue with regards to this model. I have been quoted 1.7k for the wet belt to be repaired, however have been advised that it would not be known if the engine is damaged until the repair is completed (due to driving with the warning light on).

• VW Golf 1.9 130bhp - Rough Start 29 Jan 2024 (Forum)
  On my 1.9 tdi 130bhp mk4 golf i recently purchased its got a problem starting  warm or cold the issue is there It doesnt cut out when driving, drives and runs perfect, no smoke The key has to be held on a few seconds extra to start than normal, sometimes this then puts the EML and flashing glow plug light on the dash 'emissions workshop' fault code says p0321 engine speed sensor intermittent Have changed the crankshaft sensor but no different tested a battery from another car that is working good, again no different 096 is the battery size, could this be upgraded to a bigger one?

  Hi, my 2007 xc90 d5 starts from cold very rough. Probably misfiring. It jutters for 30 seconds or so then drives perfect for the rest of the journey. Cold starts only. I also noticed a gurgling sound from possibly the engine when driving. Happens upon acceleration. I uploaded the sound below. Turn volume up and wait for the gurgling.

  The car isn’t overheating and it drives fine it’s just the fault light is still there and the fan runs constantly. anyone have any experience with this???

  I have noticed a faint thud when coming to a stop or driving very slow in my 2016 Merc GLA 220d 4Matic. I jacked the car up and checked the wheels incase they were loose, or a bearing was knackered, but all was ok. I listened in the boot while someone was driving and it is coming from the rear.

  No special licence is needed for weddings/funerals but you do need a private hire operator licence for ANY other kind of event.  The person driving also needs a PH driving licence. I came across a facey page and website for a firm operating the cars I am interested in. Their publicity talks exclusively of weddings, and makes no mention of insurance or licences However they have facebook reviews thanking them for taking people to their PROM NIGHT.
• Volkswagen Golf MK6 2011 tdi 1.6 - My Car vibrates on Idle after fuel injector change 24 Feb 2023 (Forum)
  I've noticed the car vibrates when idle now at traffic, or when im at traffic and foot is on brake. I've done about 20 miles since had this from the mechanics, should I drive it a lot more to let the ECU learn or something and will this ease the vibrating at idle? Even when the car is on PARK - it vibrates now that is noticeable. What can i do? The mechanic agreed and he said drive it for around 100 miles and see if it fixes it.

  YouTuber Scotty Kilmer's who saying BMW = Big Money Wasters  Money Pit etc.... I don't know if a BMW is worth. I don't want a BMW for prestige, but may be a great driving experience. I am not a boy racer.... I want something great to drive.  The car supermarket do sell add-on warrantee, but I don't know what it will cover and what it does n't.  Is the 3 year warranty a good way to off-set high repair bills?

  Anyway, I went to order a pair of new rears (they were pretty worn, so no harm done really) and had to keep going back out on to the drive and checking sizes again until I finally realised it has different profiles front and back.  What's that all about?  Is it a RWD thing?

  The nighttime poor beam I experienced was almost as if I was driving on an unlit road with only sidelights. I temporarily put full beam on that got me home ok-no oncoming drivers flashed-so my lights were really filthy. This was just one days motoring.The car had been hosed over on Sunday .

• Peugeot 306 S16 - heater matrix connector assembly 29 Mar 2022 (Forum)
  I have found the heater matrix on-line but wondered if the connector is still available as a spare. I am in Australia but the best suppliers for right hand drive Pug parts look to be the UK. The Peugeot P/N would be helpful if anyone has it. I also assume the connector for the S16 (1995) is the same for all right hand drive 306s. Thank you Harry

  A friend has stopped driving. He has a 2004 S type Jaguar 3.0 manual. 54K miles and full service history. Independent servicing post warranty. Very good condition and looks good. Has not been driven for 6 months so he has now decided to sell it.
