    This started 2 months ago failed to start no fault codes logged Crank & Cam sensors are in spec. Disconnected battery over night car started next day. This has happened again. Not sure if it is immobiser.Any ideas.

    The yellow key/spanner light comes on when cranking but not firing/starting. Car will bump start/jump start tho. Have charged battery to no avail

    what precautions are necessary if a vehicle is to be kept stationary outdoors and offroad without beng started longterm - lets say around 6mths. Aside from removing the battery I suppose you have to drain the oil and petrol, not quite sure how to do the latter? Does it have to be on axle stands or not?

    We have a puma and the keyfob is very hit and miss for working. It requires repeated pressing sometimes but not every time. Battery is tested at full voltage but i have not changed recently. Does anyone know of any reasons why and what to do to sort out . cheers

    While at an IAM meeting yesterday, the guest speaker, a leading firefighter of 14 years experience said that the police are trying to persuade firemen not to cut the battery cables on crashed cars. Apparantly, they can tell if the car was braking and what speed amoungst other bits of info. Is this true?

    Remote locking has stopped working on my mothers T reg Micra GX 1.3 Auto. Car had some problems starting, solved by cleaning the battery contacts. Now the remote locking just won't work. Anyone got any ideas why? Thanks for the help

    i am going to replace the standard radio cassette with a standard landrover cd tuner on my 2002 freelander. to do this i need to disconnect the battery. does anyone know if this will effect any electronic gismos in the car ? i know the radio code will need imputing but is that all? thanks

    Folks, The Citroen XM seems to have a reputation for eating radiators and heater matrices due to "the elctrolytic effect". That is, as I understand it, a "battery" effect between two metals eats away at one of them/ both of them. Hence the short life of said parts. Is this known on any other vehicles, and is there an easy fix? rg

    The light on the key fob still pulses but nothing happens when it's pointed at the car's sensor. Renewing the batteries made no difference. Any solutions? Dave Gordon.

    I am taking my VW off road (garaged) until June this yr and wanted to know what, if anything i need to do in order for the car to stay happy and not cause any problems in 4 months time? Disconect battery? Tyres? Or will very periodic use be a better option for the engine? cheers
