  • Volvo XC90 (2002 - ) - I'm getting used to it! 9 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Very comfortable seats, excellent driving position partly marred by thick pillars, and easy to use controls on the steering wheel. The radio volume and cruise control switches control these devices in a more defined way than the Outback. The kids love it; the high position, quietness of the interior and quality radio. My daughter loves her integral booster seat, which gives her a superb view out front.

  • Chrysler PT Cruiser (2000 - ) - Tried one in the USA. 19 Jul 2008 (Forum)
) we had to carry that on the back seat. Delightfully thoughtful feature was a 150+ channel satellite radio - Blue Collar Radio - superb American humour. Even had BBC R1 and the World Service so I could keep track of UK news and more importantly the cricket. Other US impressions - roads are quieter than the UK in general - poor state of repair and the cambers were odd, loved following the road numbers as directional signs were challenging - maintaining my belief that we do signs very well in the in he UK - very well.
  • Accord Tourer '06 facelift review 13 Sep 2006 (Forum)
It also looks terrible on the small wheels IMHO. Other than that, I don't personally find the volume adjustment on the radio to be useful, I still find myself adjusting it. The automatic lights are quite nice, but I overrode them several times. I'm very glad I didn't spend the extra money on the satellite navigation system.
  • Modern Signs Are Rubbish! 19 Feb 2006 (Forum)
The RAC Foundation's Edmund King added: "We've all been there, driving along, a little bit lost, trying to follow directions in an unknown area. "We will actually turn the radio down and tell passengers to be quiet and we do this instinctively to avoid information overload. "Let's make the signs clearer, let's make them plainer, let's have only the signs that we really need."
  • Does anybody want a car to just be a car anymore? 30 Dec 2023 (Forum)
We bought a Skoda Scala before Christmas, and as a car I absolutely love it, but this screen is so distracting and you have to 'see' the screen to access the basic controls whereby in an older car you could usually grope around for the buttons to change the radio etc whilst keeping your eyes on the road. I am starting to find the sheer weight of this tech overwhelming (and I am a software engineer by trade), and I'm longing for the basic dashboard and car of twenty years ago.
