• Mercedes Benz SLK AMG - Young driver reversed into my car. 2 Feb 2021 (Forum)
    Despite him admitting that he was driving at the time. I also have a witness to his reversing into me.  This young man had only passed his test 3 days prior (through the Army) yet thought this driving was acceptable.  I'm not pee'd off at anything other than this kid thinks that what he did was okay.  Plus, now I have to go to court and I feel like the criminal!

  At home I realized there have been some changes to the car, so I went to have the car tested for another MOT. Unfortunately, it did not pass. The dealer changed the tyres which influenced the MOT results. What is more, there is a different problem with the car, not the advisory item given by the garage where the car was tested 5 days before I paid the deposit.

  i put my car in for a service today at a dealership, they then called me to let me know that the sump plug fits loosely and that the threads are stripped and it'll be £250 plus to replace the sump! i suggested tapping new threads but say they are unable to do that and offer the sump replacement only, so my car is dead at the dealership as a result of their poor technicians.

  I have comp and protected, but if my company has to stump up, I will lose my excess and I will get a strike against my NCD protection, plus it will affect the premium on my classic car policy too as I have had a claim against me...... I just don't need that right now.... Any advice? Kryten

  [endif]-->Driving along yesterday in gusty conditions, I heard a loud clunk on the roof of my car (Honda Civic 9th gen) as I passed a row of oak trees.  Got home to discover the cover of the shark fin antenna was missing leaving the circuitry exposed.  I returned to the scene of the crime and, despite a thorough inspection of the ditches and hedges on both sides, could not find the missing article.

  Hello all I purchased a 996C2 from Stratstone in Aylesbury on the 26th November, after a 300 mile shakedown run on the 29th November I reported 3 problems back to the Dealer: Air Con Not Working Steering Wheel Wobble at 65 plus Appalling Headlights (Porsche Li Tronics) After finally getting the car back to the dealer the Air Con has been fixed but I am told that no problem could be found with the 'wobble' or the lights, in fact i have been told 3 times that the car passed its MOT which I agree with but, they do not test for brightness.

  Hi all, just found this site and hoping someone here can help us out.. I took my g/f's Corsa to a garage to get it MOT'd last weds, passed no probs so I asked them to change the engine oil while it was there. On saturday the car stalled and there was oily water spilling out from a hole in the rad and smoke coming out from under the bonnet.

  He pops round, takes a quick look at the car, and starts talking money - before a test drive, or check of the paperwork etc, plus it was getting dark, so you couldn't see the bodywork properly. A deal is struck, he pays (cash - which I check VERY carefully), and away goes the car. It was the most surreal car transaction I have ever had!

  Headlight dipped beam came from tiny Xenons pushed right out to the sides of the car, and rear lights were LEDs with a horizontal red band through a clear cluster. As it passed I noticed that the A pillar plus roof gutter and side window sills as far back as the B pillar (further back was hidden under fabric) were encased in wide chrome strip that for some reason the proportions of which reminded me of Rover 600!

  I'm getting just over 50mpg overall (real world not the computer) but with long journeys at the weekend too I'm doing 350+ miles a weeks so any savings would be useful. The car recently passed it's MOT but there were several advisories so there's some big bills on the way, it's at the age when things start to go wrong plus with the recommended cambelt changes every 40k the overall upkeep is getting a bit much.
