• Renault Master - Oil in Fuel 24 Jan 2019 (Forum)
  I have a Renault 2.5 d Master year 2000, and have experienced a loss of power and lots of smoke. The problem is that the engine oil is getting into the fuel supply, i have lost over 1 ltr I verified the problem by removingthe fuel filter (its black and oily ). Can anyone give me any pointers as to where to look for the problem Thanks in advance   Mark

  The car suffers a temporary loss of fuel ( the engine cuts out ) sit there for 5 minutes and the car will restart. This has happened mostly when going around roundabouts or going up a steep hill. It has never happened with a tank full of fuel.

  I've heard that when are using the car's electrical appliances ie, lights wipers, heater blower etc this increases fuel consumption.  Seeing as the alternator is constantly producing electrical enrgy by virtue of it being driven off the crankshaft pulley surely the extra demand for electrical power can only have a fractional effect on fuel consumption?

  Hi all, I'm going to change the fuel filter on my Son's Mazda 6. I've located it but is it self bleeding like most diesel cars now or do I have to prime it/ fill it with fuel prior to refitting? As always your advice and guidance is much appreciated.

  Whilst washing my car today a small amount of soapy water went into the drain hole located underneath the fuel filler nozzle. Does this drain into the tank or somewhere else? I'm concerned I might have contaminated the fuel and I'll need to get it drained.

  help!! I ran my fuel tank low over the weekend( 10mls remaining) and now my enginge is is running terrible. In neutral and at high revs it sounds like a tank and at idle if feels like it is going to stall. Could this be just that i have pulled dirty fuel / water through?

  hi i have got a fuel fault on a 2005 combo 1.3 cdti what it is that i have no fuel pressure on cranking sometimes i get 2-3mpa and 25-33mpa and it fires then back to 2-3pma i have tryed a new high pressure pump and there are no codes in ecu and timing is ok can any1 help me !

  Just realised i put this in the Motoring discussion forum, whoops. My sister has a 99 Toyota Yaris and i am trying to change the fuel filter but cannot seem to find it. There is a black 'box' mounted to the bulkhead just to the right of the engine that one of the fuel lines runs into but i cant see any way of undoing it. It seems to be the right size though.

  hello john, i have ford transit .it had got a fuel leak from at the back of fuel pump. where the selanoide is....is it possible to repair this? if it can, can you please tell me how it can be done. i can buy the selanoide from dealers...i was told by ford..

  I recall a cold childhood winter (1981 I think) and diesel-fuelled vehicles started becoming stranded because the fuel was solidifying in the cold. Vague recollections of truckers lighting fires under their tanks... Minus 11 deg C seemed to be the waxing point. Clearly diesel technology has since improved, but can diesel fuel withstand prolong temps of minus 18 or more?

  Hi, I have a Ford Focus 1.8 diesel estate. Recently it has developed a prolem with the fuel guage. When it gets to just over quarter tank, next time you turn the ignition on the fuel guage goes to full then each time after that progresively goes down. Anybody got any clues??

  After the deluge of rain my A4 wont start and fuel gauge wont move, plenty of petrol, have checked fuses, starts runs briefly then cuts out? like no fuel? Immobilisor? was fine two days ago, Help!!

  hi, i have a 53 astra sxi and was wondering if my fuel consumption will go up when i increase the fan speed when the ac is on? ie; when ac is on will fan speed 1 use more fuel than fan speed 4? or is it just the same independant of fan speed if the ac is on?

  Hi All I have a VW Passatt estate on a 'G' Plate. Having starting problems recently, ended up getting RAC bloke out!! He hit the fuel pump in the boot and it started, reckons that means it's the fuel pump sticking? Anyone have a way of testing rather than spending £110 for a new one and discovering that actually it's just the £8 relay or something stupid?

  However whilst the problem was ongoing, my German colleagues recommended mixing petrol with diesel fuel in a 2 to 30 litre ratio. and claimed that this was the special winter additive by the fuel companies. Can anybody enlighten me on this subject. regards Bob
