which fuel (petrol) 8 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I'm sure this topic appears in other threads, but was brought to mind when reading the recent 'which diesel fuel' thread. This is a tale starting 10 years ago, so things may well be different/better now, but it?s absolutely true and with no exaggeration: I had an Uno Turbo which over time developed a misfire. -

MPG Petrol & Diesel Figures/Car Economics 17 Nov 2021 (Forum)
Comparing a 122TSI Golf vs the 140TDI, implies 43 vs 55MPG, so about £300 a year more for petrol over diesel (current prices) . I assume this is increased by current fuel prices. What I am asking is therefore, how noticeable can the difference be? Is it true that a diesel needs a long run to get to those ‘top’ end MPG figure anyway? -
Peugeot Partner Combi - Peugeot partner 1.6hdi 2015 limp mode 6 May 2021 (Forum)
Mechanic took a sample of fuel, all fine (unfortunately) and tried changing air flow sensor, didn't work so sent it back. Diesel additive tank needs filling with patfluid so he's doing that tomorrow but no idea if that will solve the issue. -

Audi A4 Avant or VW Golf - Which VAG estate? 25 Aug 2018 (Forum)
So... I will be buying a used car probably 4-5 years old..... 1. A4 Avant vs Golf Estate 2. Petrol vs Diesel of above .... hilly rural roads mostly short journeys, some longer ones now and then, I do less than 10000 a year. Do petrols die before diesels? My current car is still going strong at 136000 and no issues yet! -

£4500 Budget for Hatchback that will last? 14 Jul 2014 (Forum)
I also hope that I can get something that is reasonably fuel efficient without being absolutely sluggish? I am aware I might be asking for too much! I am just unsure whether to balance age vs miles on the clock and diesel vs petrol. I have bought some terrible cars in the past and I hope that will end here! -
