  • Diesel-89.9ppl 10 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Good to see the price of diesel has dropped slightly- 89.9 pence per litre at my local Tesco this morning. Car running on fumes, doing my weekly shop, I'll have some of that please. Read in the paper that demand for diesel is lower than usual this winter due to the ongoing mild weather and has resulted in the price drop.

  • Dynamo Polarity 10 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Recently the question was asked:- "Does anyone know how to change the polarity of a dynamo?" Apparantly, it seems, if you touch one of the leads to earth while the dynamo is running, the polarity is reversed. Allegedly. Does anyone has any ideas on this subject. I should point out that we are talking about 1930s - or thereabouts - cars.

  • Daewoo Matiz 28 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Unfortunately she didn't ensure she got the owner's handbook. There is now a yellow 'Check' light showing permanently on the dash, the car seems to be running OK and she is unsure what to do. Is this a dealer issue or can a Matiz owner throw some light on what the problem can be? TIA.

  • XUD Engine hunting + loss of power??? 22 Feb 2006 (Forum)
Hi, I have a PUG 406 which was fitted with a Citreon Xantia XUD 1900TD engine shortly before I got it. As of today the car will only run roughly, whole engine shacks violently, and the throttle does nothing. It is smoking (BLUE + BLACK), does this mean the FUEL PUMP is the problem? Thx
  • Anyone got a V8 E39 5 Series? 30 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Hey all, Anyone got/had an E39 540i or 535i? How do the running costs, excluding fuel consumption, compare with the 6 cylinder models? Is it worth the extra expense? Whats the reliability like? How reliable are the auto boxes? Found out I can insure one.. Cheers :)

The available lubricants include: KY jelly 15w/40 Washing up liquid Chain grease Light bike oil Vaseline. Combination of any of the above. Thanks for any ideas!!

  • More Cuts 30 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Those that wield power have cut the number of traffic/fast response cars to cover this massive rural area to.....two, both ARVs. This is on the basis that they can run four Corsas for the cost of one Omega/Vectra. The place to be to commit car crime.
