  how do you weaken pump so that it is not smoking so much have back pump timing of it is better but still a bit to much starts very well from cold no smoke and runs smoth straight from start but smokes a lot when on throttle it is diesel not oil and black

  Hello, I am delving the web for some advice. I run a small garage business and would like to be able to compete with the big boys like kwik fit and halfords, so I was wondering if there is some reasonable priced car diagnostic tools that would be able to bring my garage into the 21st Century?

  The offside headlamp levelling motor is running all the time when the lights are switched on. Whether the ignition is on or off makes no difference. I have temporarily disconnected the motor while I seek help or inspiration. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be, please?

  I haven't run a diesel in years and forgot about the ridiculous rev limiter in neutral test. I intend to slip the tester a couple of notes to not subject my engine to this nonsense when the MoT expires in March.

  Hi everyone, a friend of mine is looking for a smaller size car for around £1500, as her 2002 Laguna has just blown another turbo. What can any of you suggest that would be reasonably well-built and cheap to run (It would be quite handy if the car had five doors, as well) Many thanks in advance : )

  30 odd in the urban setting, 37 or 38 on longer runs, never better than 38 For a DIESEL! From one who was getting 50 plus overall, from the same driving mix, from der Skoda. A pleasent  car with good access & seating and also deceptively fast, imho.

  I have just done my morning run up the M6.  I saw a Nissan GT-R being towed and it made me laugh a bit (early morning schadenfreude). I think I'd be very cross if I'd spent over £70k on a car to have it conk out just after Lancaster.
• Vauxhall Zafira - Zafira Alternator.. 105/130amp? which is better? 16 Nov 2011 (Forum)
  Fixing my mates Zafira... alternator gave a burning smell and no longer works. Vauxhall said it's a common fault. The car is currently running a 105 amp. will stepping up to a 130 amp be better or is it pointless? anyone have any ideas? cheers, M_Loades

  For some time the front of a Ciroen DS3, with the vertical day running lights reminds me of a beaver. The new BMW 1 series - a hippo. The Fiat Multipla in its first guise of the present car - a dolphin. Chrysler Crossfire Coupe - looks like a dog on the toilet.

  Hello, I would be very grateful if someone could help me please. My 53 plate 2.5 diesel auto volvo does not run smoothly, the engine seems to be missing and the downgearing is very rough. Would anyone know what could be causing this. thanks

  i have oil sludge in the hoses leading from the emmisions control value through to the intercooler engine runs fine slight black smoke on acceleration fully serviced but high mileage any ideas of cause of sludge

  If you post a link to a specific vehicle from the aforementioned website, it is likely you will see your postcode in amongst the address. I'd suggest if you are running a search to give as an example use a very bogus postcode unless you want the Universe to know where you stay to within a couple of hundred yards.

  Hi,  I get a rattle on the front drivers side when the engine runs  at 1000 to 1200 revs then it goes away.  It only happens at those revs not higher or lower.  There is no rattle when idling of at higher revs.  Any ideas on this.  Thanks.

  Which does the forum think will give me the longest trouble free run? Iv seen a 52 plate version of all 3 with 80,000ish on the clock. we dont do big miles a year and only a bit of motorway so your words of wisdon would help sway our choice.

  My Fusion has reached 21,000 trouble-free miles but the original Hankook tyres are approaching replacement. Any advice about quiet-running replacements as I think the Hankooks are very noisy on the poorly-maintained secondary roads which are now standard in the Highlands? Many thanks..

  somthims car is smokey  and not much power when you try to speed up has only happened recentely was wondering if turbo was problem when you switch of and start again problem not so bad but still their  its not smokey when up and running

  at 1200 revs this noise sounds from under the bonnet/engine compartment, just sounds like a valve openning or a relay kicking in, no disruption to the running of the car, fuel economy perfect, approx 15 miles per hour, any ideas guys.
