  Happened again a couple of weeks later with a full tank. My local garage said it would have to go to a fuel specialist and if it was found to be the fuel pump then it would be big bill. I had to agree to this as work is quiet and cant get another for 12 months. Anyway to cut a long story short, the 'specialist' diagnosed the problem and changed the fuel pump.

  From speaking to various peugeot workers and readin through forums it seems P1138 is a common code after a shutdown and P0230 usually relates to the LP fuel pump. The car will fire up with the key and will run for maybe 5 seconds before dying again of its own accord. Putting the ignition on can hear the LP pump in the tank fire up and also fuel rushing through the inlet into the fuel filter.

  Been on before on this - for 7 months now, once in a while my Focus 03 plate only 24K miles 1.8TDCi 115PS refuses to start -RAC men says it fuel delivery its been into Ford Dealer had £2000 (yes 2000) of parts fitted new PCM, new fuel pump system etc crankshaft sensor yet still plays up. Then in November it got towed in yet again this time Ford Dealer say 'its fixed' it was a chafed wire under the gearbox, wire part of fuel delivery they said.

  also i've heard about a few devices to improve economy and or power / performance. first is ProZone FuelSaver in-line fuel magnetiser/catalyst/fuel swirl device: http://www.fuelsaver.co.uk/faqs.htm other is a much cheaper alternative homemade version which is simply a screwdriver magnetiser clipped around your fuel line near fuel pump to magnetise the fuel.

  Glad to see the website and forum is still doing well in its new restful blueish look! Anyone run a Mondeo Estate 2.0 petrol to know their real life fuel consumption? Also I wonder what a trade sale (not p/x) value would be for a clean 51 plate Ghia with 86K and history up to 70K? Thanks, David
• Vauxhall Astra - Fuel additive for low blow engines 23 Jun 2019 (Forum)
  Looking at the fixed price service prices, an interim is £160 with the proviso: "Fixed price servicing price does not include Fuel additive for low blow turbo engines. If required this will be an additional £19.20." Never used an additive in any car, but then I've never had a turbo before. So, worth having or snake oil?

  Sorry if this has been covered before.My sons peugeot 106 independence ( 1.1 petrol)has just developed a fault.The speedo, rev counter and fuel gauge have simultaneously stopped working.I have checked all the fuses i can find, and none are blown.If any one has any ideas as to the problem that would be great. regards bernie

  Or up hill. Have seen a lot about changing or cleaning the EGR and I'm also planning on changing the fuel air and oil filter. Do you think this will help at all? And also doing it myself would this be easy to change the EGR ? Thank you

  Hi.  recently had fuel filter warning light on dash, it came on then off immediately, but then had a drop in power, wouldn't go over 3.5 RPM.  light indicates water in filter. New filter fitted - all fine, now after 850 miles, the same thing has happened again.
• Audi A4 Avant B6 - Fuel Flap Not Locking & No Indicator Flash 28 Mar 2013 (Forum)
  Have just noticed that when locking my A4 Avant I no longer get the indicator flash to confirm, also for quite a while now the lock on the fuel filler hasn't worked. everything else seems to work as it should. Are the two connected? ie the ECU is recognising that the flap isn't locked therefore no confirmation flash? Anyone any idea on the fix and/or the cause, Is it as simple as just the actuator?

  Hi. The diesel fuel pump has apparently given up the ghost. Cost of new pump is £1725 + VAT. Cost of recon one is £420 (from RSC Eurpose Ltd). Labour estimate is about £1200 + VAT as engine has to be removed.

  I bought an 08 Passat with 90K on the clock 18 months ago and was disappointed with getting an average 40mpg doing 20K a year on mostly long motorway runs. It was recalled in January 2012 for new fuel injectors after which the consumption increased to almost 46mpg. As VW have known about this injector problem for some time do you think the is a case for compensation for reduced consumption to that advised by VW?

  Hi I have recently been a victim of 4 x fuel injector failure in my 2006 VW Passat 2.0 TDi SE. I am considering changing to a 2009 09 Reg SKODA Octavia 1.9 TDI PD SE. Does anyone know which type of injector is used in the Octavia. I wouldn't buy it if the Siemens piezo injectors are used.

  Model year 2007/57 plate, Engine cut out today and would'nt restart, AA came out and his computer said low fuel pressure. He said there was no fuel in the tank, put 2 gallon in erased the fault code, started it and it was fine. 5 minutes later after putting another £30 of fuel in, back it went into limp mode with engine management light on.

  ive a 97 306 1.9 diesel  car turning over but wont start, checked selenoid it  ok and electric gettin through, fuel in filter and no air detected flowing through to diesel pump, unscrewed fuel line on diesel pump side but no fuel gettin through, stopped yesterday towed it and it started drove 4 miles then stopped and wont start again, can anyone help me or tell me wat else to check . thanks

  can anyone help me? ive a 97 1.9d turns over but wont start, fuel in filter but no air dectected flowing through to deisel pump, selenoid checks out a ok, unscrewed fuel line on deisel pump side the 4 injector pipes but yet no fuel comes through.  stopped yesterday towed it started then stopped wont start now at all . can anyone help with wat this could be or wat else i can check?

  hi,having problem with the fuel pump fuses blowing,i have taken the pump out and inspected it for bottom of tank gunk,it seemed ok but didnt sort the problem out,am going to check the voltage to pump to see if relay is playing up,it will be hard to check as the fuse may last a day or a month!

  My car refused to start and the AA diagnosed a shorted turn fuel pump. Garage wants £552.25 for a new one. excluding labour. Outrageous for a 13yr old car. I can't afford to replace the car nor pay silly money for a pump. A washing machine pump is around £15 and there isn't that much difference.

    When I took it to the petrol station it won't fill up, just puts a pound or two in then clicks off.  This is despite the fuel tank showing empty.  Now it has started revving madly when I drive it and attempting to run away, ie doing 30 mph in 2nd gear with no gas and jut pulling further ahead. What could be the problem?
