Oh no! Petrol into Diesel 28 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Long day (getting up at 0130 UK time) and getting to bed at 22.30. Went to get fuel just now and put 62l of unleaded into the S-Max which has the TDCi engine. Drove 0.5 mile and engine cut out. I knew as soon as it happened what I had done. RAC coming to the rescue at a cost of £199. Doh! -

Honda Jazz vs VW Polo 3 Nov 2013 (Forum)
A friend is looking at both these cars (s/h about three years old). My inclination is towards the Jazz as another friend has run one for years - it has been 100% reliable and he finds the dealer service excellent. By comparision I feel VW became just another car years ago and neither are especially reliable nor enjoy good dealer service. -

How amusing 16 Jan 2013 (Forum)
We've had some snow where I live, not too much mind, the sensible wheels and Michelin Primacy tyres on the S-Type mean it gets on perfectly fine despite being RWD. However I do enjoy seeing clips on the local news of posh pansies with their low-profile BMW's sliding back down the hill. Serves you right. -

Riley Lynx 12/4 1936 - Oil Filters 13 Apr 2011 (Forum)
The oil filter system has been modified to accept a more modern filter - probably around 1970's and I think fitted to British Leyland cars of that era. The filter I have removed is a "Halfords HOF209". Does anyone know - is this filter still available and if so where from? -

Vauxhall "Lifetime" Warranty 31 Aug 2010 (Forum)
The bumph in the paper said you only need to take for an annual inpection. Not true. You need to service it every year. Thats ££££s. The dealership were surprised Vauxhall came out with this. He said they are confident in the product for reliability. Every Vauxhall I've owned has been nothing but trouble and a costly one. And how long would it be to hit 100,000 miles.
