He picked up the car in May 1954, and from then, it was either used sparingly, or housed in professional storage. Accompanying MoT certificates issued in May 1970 and April 1980 list recorded mileages of 15,030 and 15,195 respectively. The car has been unused for the past 30-or-so years, where it has been garaged alongside a Riley Kestrel 15/6 and Jaguar E-type V12 Roadster. -

It's being sold as a barn-find in need of a full restoration, having not turned a wheel in 37 years. The current owner, known to those who have been following the build on social media as Mr Shifter, bought the car in 1988 in the Slough area and used it regularly until it was taken off the road in 1989 after failing its MoT on structural corrosion. It was placed into storage until it was finally rebuilt and the restoration completed earlier this year by the team at MBVR Ltd. Mr Shifter said, 'My thanks go to all the companies and people who have worked hard to get the car back to full health after almost thirty years off the road.' -
Modern classics in demand as Nineties Escort Cosworth sells for £49.5k 27 Sep 2019 (News)
The price shows that demand for modern classics is strong and was high enough to make the Ford top lot at the inaugural Bonhams MPH on Thursday, 26 September, at Bicester Heritage. With 38k on the clock, the rally-inspired Escort RS Cosworth has been in storage for the past decade. Apart from a twin-headlight conversion, the car is very original with the factory paint said to be in good condition. The car also has its original alloy wheels and Recaro black cloth seats. -

A pristine 4,514 Mile 1959 Heinkel Kabine (Cabin Cruiser) is to be sold in an Online Auction by H&H on Wednesday 3rd July. It is estimated to make £20,000 to £24,000. It has been in storage since 1983 in a ply-lined container with a de-humidifier since 1983. Following re-location of Heinkel production to Dundalk, Ireland in 1958 this Cabin Cruiser was ordered new by Mr E.S. -

Frankfurt Motor Show 2015: Vauxhall unwraps Astra Sports Tourer 15 Sep 2015 (News)
Vauxhall say they have reworked the interior to provide more space, with the driver getting 26mm additional headroom, while passengers in the rear have 28mm more. Maximum storage is a whopping 1630 litres and the tailgate can be specified with keyless entry, which operates with a simple small kicking motion under the rear bumper to open the tailgate. In order to increase loading space the Sports Tourer comes with 40/20/40 foldable rear seats enabling even more flexible loading space configurations. Under the bonnet the Astra is offered with petrol and diesel units ranging from 100PS to 200PS, which includes the 1.6-litre Whisper Diesel that will return lower CO2 emissions and better economy, with the most frugal variants of the new Astra officially capable of up to 91.1mpg and 82g/km, at least in the EcoFlex, economy focused arrangement. -

The more original car in Opalescent Golden Sand is LHD, originally purchased in New York and left in storage for around 25 years after its clutch failed at 50,000 miles. It was rescued and re-imported to the UK in 2009, after which it underwent comprehensive recommissioning and has been used regularly since. -
Low-mileage cars lead the way at Anglia 9 Apr 2014 (News)
The 1968 Triumph TR5 PI barn find, offered with no reserve and attracting international telephone bidders, remains in the UK after being sold for £15,225 with premium. An Austin 10 Tourer project car, offered after being in dry storage for 40 years, also got a good price at £6510 including premium. Once again, Anglia seems to have picked a lot list that drew in considerable crowds, and proves that there's plemty of interest at the popular end of the market. -
'Ashes to Ashes' Audi quattro up for auction 11 Feb 2014 (News)
Even more so than the Ford Cortina Mk3 that starred in the show's predecesor, Life on Mars. The quattro was bought by a props company, and since filming ended has been in storage. As the seller states, 'i n all honesty I love this car I’m only selling it because I’ve left the industry and these days I no longer have facilities to work on, or store her any more. -
Report: Anglia classic car auction, King's Lynn, 22 June 25 Jun 2013 (News)
With just two owners from new, it moved for the first time when collected by ACA. The bumpers were removed when the car was placed in storage and covered in wax, leaving them in excellent condition. Despite an inch of dust covering the car, it was soon up and running as the engine proved mechanically sound. Other notable results included the 1956 Rolls Royce Silver Cloud I, which sold at £40,950, the 1971 Porsche 911 2.2T fetching £32,025 (double its pre-sale estimate), and the 1969 Jaguar E-type roadster making £42,000. -

The motor, which is capable of generating a peak of 115 PS, is fed through a lithium-ion battery integrated into the underside of the vehicle with a storage capacity of 45 Kilowatt-hours. This, combined with a kerb weight of 1,500 kg, allows the Milano Taxi concept to travel at speeds of up to 74 mph and up to 186 miles between charges. In addition, the charging time of the lithium-ion batteries has been substantially reduced with over 80 per cent of its total capacity being reached in just over an hour.
