  • Skoda Rapid Spaceback - Selling to a car buying service - my experience 2 Aug 2017 (Forum)
I've just noticed my old car is now back for sale on Autotrader.   I sold the Rapid to a car buying service and found the process simple and "relatively" transparent.   The car was a late 2014 1.2 TSi and had covered 20k miles.
  • Wondering. New job, new car. 20 Sep 2019 (Forum)
I have been self employed for a while so any kind of credit agreement may get complicated. I tend to increase the entropy of cars by a large factor so I worry about spending a lot. The other car is a Subaru Forester so the bee keeping side is covered while I go off to be corporate boy.
  • Audi A5 - Faulty car not being repaired 2 Apr 2014 (Forum)
I reported the issue to the dealer and brought the car back and forth but everytime for some reason the repair has been delayed. At this stage i still have the car unfixed and the dealer keeps changing his mind about the repair. He is now refusing to get the car repaired.

  • Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - What to do with my car? [Read Only] 15 Dec 2009 (Forum)
My background is in the food industry and I know nothing at all about cars, in fact I didn't even know my car had a turbo until last weekend. I have only had the car 6 months, it has only covered 67,000 miles and was a one owner car with full service records. It was owned by a man who worked for Ford, so I thought it would be a good purchase.
  • Police have got our car..... 7 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Husband lost his keys on Friday, someone obviously swiped them & came & took his car early hours of Tuesday. The police rang 11.30am on Tuesday to say they had found the car & it was back at their garage but couldn't tell us anything about the damage etc just that they had to fingerprint it.
  • Jaguar X-Type Estate (2004 - 2007) - insurance, how to get big enough courtesy car 15 Aug 2007 (Forum)
I've had this in the past, where the repairing garage couldn't provide a car for 2 weeks, by which time i'd like to think our car would be repaired! Anyone got any ideas? 2 adults, a baby and it's paraphernalia and 2 dogs will not fit into a Nissan Micra or similar. What do other people do?
  • TuningBox for Diesels 21 Jun 2001 (Forum)
So I now have a two litre diesel car with nigh-on 130BHP and 330Nm of torque (It's the +60Nm torque that gives the car the performance boost) I just need better brakes now.......... Any of you sceptics out there, go to their website at www.tuningbox.com - it's full of performance data & information etc.
  • VW Golf - Used car dealer - insurance question 28 Sep 2017 (Forum)
I said this will be your easiest sale of the year.... (and then the trouble started). Yesterday we rang our insurer and switched over the cover and then drove down to the dealer to collect the car. We had another look at it, cool. We then sat down presuambly to sign the log book and GTFO of there. We then had to sign a half a dozen forms to say we didn't want anything other than the car thanks (finance, gap insurance, breakdown insurance blah blah).
  • Minor car scratch incident. Advice? 27 Sep 2016 (Forum)
Last Wednesday 21st me and my wife dropped our 2 little boys off to school. My wife was driving down the road, loads of cars was parked on our right hand side and there was double yellows on our left. There was 1 park car on our left on double yellow, as we was passing the car a car in front came speeding around the corner aiming straight at us.
  • BMW 528 - Does 3rd party insurance have the legal right - 12 Sep 2013 (Forum)
When the assesor sent by the 3rd parties insurers looked at the car, I expressed that I did not want the car written off. He commented on the good condition of the car and how it didn't look it s age nor show the miles it has covered. This due to me being so particular that everything is kept in top condition both cosmetically and mechanically.
  • SEAT Alhambra - sunroof exploded 23 Nov 2018 (Forum)
Do I have a claim for inconvenience, injury and mental anguish here? Frankly, I am still terrified to drive the car but I have no alternative and feel like they are covering this up.
  • FAO Honest John, the Indian Dacia Duster Problems 5 Feb 2014 (Forum)
Dacia have put out an unofficial ‘blue’ recall to dealerships. Some owners claim brake pipe cover shields have been found missing by dealers on some cars.

  • Honda Accord - Rear end shunt - Insurance Total Loss 13 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Can some experts please guide?   My car was waiting in traffic when another car shunted me from behind. My car was propelled forward hitting another car as well. In total three cars were involved and my car is badly damaged in the rear and a relatively lesser damage on the front.
  • Drove a few cars yesterday 10 May 2009 (Forum)
It didn't feel massively quick, but that probably related to how quiet it was in the cabin. The build quality seemed very good and I could imagine covering long distances in the car with little problem. The only downside was the £38K price tag, although I imagine they will become relatively affordable in a few years.
  • Ford Focus 2002 1.6 pet - Ford focus 02 - To change cat or not? 7 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Error code: P0420 Dashboard trick: DTC9318, battery and alternator have good voltages (also read that this is consistent with a knackered cat) It looks like the front Lambda has been replaced fairly recently with a genuine ford part, maybe the previous owner was trying to fix this problem...before passing it onto gullible me! Car is at 100,000 miles Had an emisions test done which showed the lambda at 1.01 which is an MOT pass Since I've had the car i've replaced: cam belt, speed sensor, air/fuel filters Cleaned the idle control valve Drives OK, MPG and power not as good as I would expect but don't really have much experience as my other car is a tuned up mini!
  • Mercedes-Benz SLK-Class W171 - HPI claim 15 Oct 2011 (Forum)
I am ex motor trade so I made sure I carried out an HPI check, providing VRM and chassis no to ensure I was covered by their indemnity. The car is only 18 months old and was in superb condition, it did however have evidence of some paint work on both doors. I was slightly suspicious of this however I went ahead with the deal as these cars are painted regularly.
  • Kia Rio 1.5 Diesel - Is this a fuel leak?? (Kia Rio) 29 Aug 2010 (Forum)
On Sat it had leaked fuel onto the drive, it looked like it came from a pipe near the rear axel, a pipe covered with this foam sleeve. I cleaned it up, wiped it all clean, and it has remained dry since, and no more stains on the drive. I read somewhere that if you fill up to the brim and the park with the rear of the car lower than the nose, this can happen.
