• Honda FRV - Honda FRV starting problem 27 Feb 2015 (Forum)
  When trying to start the (after the glow plugs go out) it just keeps turning then finally it will crank into life, sometimes when the engine is hot it wont start at all then try again a few minutes later it does. The battery was replaced recently by the previous owner and the filter/oil have been done. HELP!!

  I have just had the cam belt and clutch renewed on my 53 plated Ford Fiesta, but the chap who did the job disconnected the battery and the radio code  in my handbook doesn't work. Does anyone know what the code might be. The serial no. is  M031641. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

  The car is on the parked and doesn't have road tax so i cant drive it ... i thought it might be something to do with the battery "as its obviously going to die if not being driven". Any advice would be appreciated :)

    It starts again straight away with no problems but as I have a small child, need to rectify the problem.  I have been told by a garage that it needs a new battery at a cost of £50???

  Changed ECT with genuine one problem now worse 15 seconds causes car to be undriveable unless left for 15 minutes to warm uo. Have done ECU reset by disconnect battery earth fo 30 minutes. Any pointers for this please. Iain

  The key is a plain mechanical key to put in the door keyhole, no remote function, but locking/unlocking the driver's door should lock/unlock all other doors.   She had a new battery recently, I don't see why that should cause the problem, is there a fuse which controls central locking, as everything else works normally?

  Each individual section was ok but he found the following problems: Internal Cmu memory error Shortcut to ground The key could not be reprogrammed and the CMU could not be read or accessed. The battery was disconnected and the dash removed and checked. Any help possible cost of repair or fixes thanks.

  Hi I disconnected the battery while working on my car but now the radio won't work as I don't have the radio code. I removed the radio from the dashboard but there's no code on the chassis. Do I need to have the radio reprogrammed?

   It's all working great (and sounds pretty good too) but I don't have any of the original documentation for the car, so I don't have the radio code should I need to disconnect the battery for any reason. Does anyone know if there's a way to recover / access the code for the radio? I'd hate to be left tuneless! Thanks in advance :)

  OUr Golf failed to start about 2 weeks ago which we thought was a battery problem.  Wouldn't start with jump pack so called Green Flag who diagnosed EGR valve problem but got the car started.   Taken to VW dealers for investigation a few days later - they say that the electronic memory has been wiped (how?)

  can eny1 help pls i got a 2001 1.5cc almera tick over up and down, drive it in 1st and 2nd gear it fine but put it in 3rd 4th 5th in boers out. sounds like it got no air fillter on it, 1st 2nd gear it got loads of power, it was driving fine when it was parked up 3mths ago just put new battery on it and problems started, can eny1 help pls thanx for reading.

  Passenger doors and boot not opening, indicators and interior light not working, changed battery in key fob still not working. Recently had auxillery belt replaced, is there any wiring near that could have been damaged . Can drive the car using the key. Everything connected to the generic control module not working and cannot get the module into service mode.

    I have seen many methods on line but am loath to try in case it makes it worse. Does anyone know how to reprog or resynch with out going to a dealer ?  Both batteries appear healthy.   Thanks

  Hi, After having my car battery changed, I needed to key in the code for the 6000CD radio. However, my audio guide has 2 serial numbers and codes ('original' and 'new') - neither of which work. Having looked at the S/N on the radio, it's totally different to the ones I was given.

  In a nutshell, while in the process of jump starting my 330i, I inadvertently touched the jump leads together while the leads were connected to my wifes 120d. It was connected in the boot direct to the battery. The car cut out and now wont start, it just cranks over and some warning lights have appeared on the dash. Anyone got any ideas as to what the issue might be? I have tried my handheld diagnostics and it wont connect with the car..

  I have replaced the ecu, responder and chip in the key which made no difference at all. i left the battery off for 30mins to try reset the ecu no difference. Is there a immobiliser unit somwhere else in the car maybe i can replace that. thanks bradley

  As a result of a flat battery the stereo in my A3 is now displaying 'SAFE'.  I realise I need the code for the radio, but the card with the code on it has been detached from the Concert user guide by the car's previous owner.

  The gauge says there's petrol in the tank although I thought I'd smell some if engine turning and not starting. I haven't. I've checked all fuses and all ok. I'm waiting for a set of jump leads as the battery is now getting low. Anyone any idea where to go next before I have to take it to a garage/ Cheers, Ronnie

  i have a citroen berlingo that wont start i bought as a none runner with engine managment fault and is eco mode had it plugged in and have been told its the comms 200 unit so i replaced and put a new battery on still none starter ?? the air bag has also been deployed ?? and has been standing for a year or two any help plz folks cheers matty

  Hi - the cenral locking does not work from the key - although the battery was recently replaced - I have tried resetting from the ignition - no luck. Also the central locking has started locking itself and the manual does not work very well taking several attempts to unlock before success - you can imagine how frustrating this is on a cold winters morn!
