Alloy wheel problem? 2 Jun 2002 (Forum)
The alloys on my car each have a cover over the central hub held in place with a locking screw. When I removed one after a puncture it was covered in sort of crusty white residue. The brake fluid level seems ok. It only seems to be on one wheel - which now seems to be corroding. -
Car Components and Problems Now Rarely Seen 4 May 2009 (Forum)
Cross ply tyres, glass that isn't tinted, plastic dashboards split by the sun (see previous). Heaters on the options list, earthing straps, mock sheepskin seat covers, wooden bead seat covers, a policeman on point duty. A UK-reg lorry, after market stripes and rubbing strips, after market sun roofs, vinyl roofs, proper chrome hub caps, proper chrome of any sort, and car phones with a proper handset. -

Suzuki Celerio - Suzuki Warranty 12 May 2021 (Forum)
Hi All, I own a Suzuki Celerio. Have done since new and covered 50000 in just under 3 years. Been offered a Suzuki Warranty, Comprehensive Cover which seems to include most things but not wear and tear, at £18 per month. The car has a full service history with the Main Dealer. -
A modification? 1 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I and most others thought yes - there was a material change in the design of the parts designed to improve performance. So, 2 questions. 1. Do you think that this is a 'modification' in terms of insurance cover? I think it is. 2. Assuming it is, what might the effect be on his insurance cover should he need to make a claim? I would assume that the insurers would be able to wriggle out of covering his (expensive) car. -
Breakdown cover and pets 12 Sep 2020 (Forum)
Most of my car journeys are very local so (touch wood) if I ever needed to make use of breakdown cover, recovery and getting home would never be an issue. However, most longer journeys (holidays, visiting family etc) have an extra 2 passengers, our 2 dogs. -

1.4tdci diesel - Urgent advice on buying a car needed... 29 Jul 2010 (Forum)
In the year before the buyer bought it, the MOT documents said the car had covered just 2500 miles. The buyer has had the car for just a month and when I asked why, he said he took it as part exchange for a boat(!?). He would not negotiate on the price as he assured me he had negotiated a price of 3300 as part of a trade in for a car he was after, but would prefer the cash. -
BMW - BMW Extended Fully Comp Warranty Scam 30 May 2011 (Forum)
I am writing this to warn other BMW drivers. I own a 06 2.0d X3 with 43k miles that has a full BMW service history. The car is supposedly covered by extended BMW Comprehensive Component Cover warranty (their most expensive top level cover). Shortly after its last major service the car developed a Turbo fault. The dealer told me that the turbo had failed due to a build up of carbon and this wasn? -
Volkswagen T5 Transporter Shuttle (2004 - ) - Getting Insurance - not easy but there are answers 19 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I had a lot of trouble getting insurance on mine as a private punter since although the VIN classed it as a diesel car for tax the body type is minibus. The descriptions for these vehicles as accessed by the insurance databases seem very confused and inconsistent. The underlying description of Transporter T30 130 TDI SWB (model type) as the main description not really helping much as it was then randomly associated with body type descriptions The insurance companies offering commercial cover baulked mainly at the number of seats (8) classing it a minibus which SEVERELY restricted the opportunities for cover. -
How gullible are some people? 28 Mar 2008 (Forum)
She was having to give every personal detail, details of other insurances, breakdown insurances - the full works! When she came off the phone I commented that it was an awful long call to get a cover note - apparently this was the insurance division of the large motor retailer and she had been told by the salesman that she had to phone them to get the free 7 day cover so that they could tax her car! -
Pesky breakdown cover 25 Feb 2007 (Forum)
They said, we're too busy today, how about next week? Anyway, I've lost faith in them now. I'm covering one car for 2 people and want homecover and certainty that they'll come when I call - just peace of mind really I've looked up Europ Assistance, and they're £59 for an all-in comprehensive policy. -
Toyota - Toyota extended warranty experience 26 Oct 2024 (Forum)
Called local Toyota dealer on Tuesday, explained the issue to the service receptionist who was skeptical it was covered, but drop the car in anyway. Dropped it in at 8am this morning, told it may be a couple of days as they needed to assess the problem and may need parts, Asked if we needed a courtesy car in which case we'd need to go back next week or if not they would give us a lift back home or office, neither were needed, They called at 11am and I was expecting a diagnosis and 'sorry but that isn't covered'. -
Honda Civic - Shark Fin Antennas - Something to Avoid? 5 Feb 2023 (Forum)
The cover is attached by screws up through the base – the cover itself is just ordinary plastic and so becomes a bit fragile with age and exposure to the elements. I found a Youtube video showing how to fit it but I do not think myself competent to have a go - grab handles, light cover, pillar trim etc all have to be removed with considerable potential for breaking something. -
Focus TDDI or is it TDCI? 26 Jan 2006 (Forum)

Just below on the side of rocker cover is a label/barcode encased in a sort of plastic, on it it says "Endura TDCI stage 3" What is the car and what is this stage 3 mean. Cheers -
BMW 5 Series - BMW 520D - AA Warranty - Cargiant bad experience 17 May 2017 (Forum)
They are yet to send their engineers out so as you can imagine im without a car.Courtesy car isn't covered at level of warranty I purchased I was told. You'd think Gold would be the highest standard. I was under the impression that the car warranty covers me for the cost of any mechanical and electrical repairs that are needed on my car, including parts and labour.
