  • Volkswagen Polo GTI - PCP - trade in early or not? 30 Jan 2017 (Forum)
They are currently phasing out the old model so have a good deal on it at the minute, 0% Apr and 2000 deposit contribution means I'd pay roughly £40 a month more than do for the polo.  Problem is my car has been valued at £300 less than I owe on the finance. Not a huge issue but I got the gti over the bluegt as the residuals were hopefully a lot better. Just don't want to lose out if it's likely to balance out more over the next 12 months and swing the other way.
  • Road tax 3 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Over two weeks later, I ask for a full refund when they said that the car was miraculously fixed but it wasn't and I was given a full refund and I even had to sort out the part finance agreement which was a complete headache and they should have resolved it on my behalf so I was told. My issue however is that the dvla have sent a cheque to me (in my name) for a refund of road tax and the dealer are becoming quite aggressive and everyday asking for their money back!!
  • VW Polo 1.0 SE 75 PS - Another PCP Dilemma - Over mileage charges 1 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Been trying to sell the car - offers of under £7,500. Can't really keep the car because of the miles I'm doing, won't reach 50% of the finance until another two years - in which I'll have done an estimated 50,000 miles - well over the agreed limit. Is there a way out of this situation other than getting a huge loan? Any help would be much appreciated.
  • Hyundai i30 - Hyundai i30 power steering failure 5 Jun 2015 (Forum)
They are 'opening a case' The problem is due to a break in communication involving a microchip in the steering column. Dealer has offered me £3k trade in - which is more or less what I still owe on finance! The job is going to cost around £1400, which I can't afford. Any suggestions please where I might find further evidence to support my case that Hyundai should contribute? Thanks, Carless of Torquay ??
  • Audi RSQ3 - audi warrant and insurance co. preferred repairers 26 May 2015 (Forum)
The vehicle is a 63 model, 9k on the clock. The vehicle has been bought on the equivalent of a personal finance scheme; bit up front monthly payments and then lump sum at end. What is my position in as far as I want the car to be repaired correctly and no comebacks and the warranty in tact?
  • Peugeot 207 - What should I do, 1 Oct 2013 (Forum)

  • BMW - My car was wrote off, I think it's still in use ? 14 Jan 2010 (Forum)
All my personal belongings (worth around £100) were never given back to me. Now,I thought this sounded suspicious. I'm still paying off the finance for the car nearly 1 YEAR on. I also completed a Vehicle Identity Check, and the results confused me. Now, my car wrote off around MARCH 2009; on the vehicle check it says the DATE OF LIABILITY is 01 09 2010 How is this possible, if it's "wrote off" ?
  • Buying car from dealer - help! 25 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Do you reckon I am being paranoid about all this or should I stay clear. The HPI check came up with no finance owed / or having being written off. Thanks in advance DC
  • p/xd a scrapper too soon 24 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Anyway, with the VAT rate lower and £2k potentially up for grabs I wonder if we would be better off buying a cheap and cheerful Panda or Corsa, using the Mazda as the px with this discount and then keeping this little car as a run-around for the next 10 years... I would prefer to buy outright but with the Vauxhall finance deals even that seems pointless. Question is, should I by a cheap and cheerful car just because it has got even cheaper, or should I just be angry at my bad timing?
  • BMW 3-Series E46 (1998 - 2005) - PartEx Options for changing 2 cars at once 9 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Car 1 - N reg Micra - Parker's guide price = £300 Car 2 - 52 Reg 330D with 140K - Glass guide price £3600 Finances willing, my wife and I want to be able to take advantage of the lower interest rate/lower car prices by extending our mortgage by about £15K (it's up for renewal). We both feel that we need updated cars (my wife is getting to the stage where she's spending more on servicing/tax/fuel each year than the car's worth).
  • FIAT Punto (1994 - 1999) - 97 1.1 Running problems. 25 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I wonder if you may be able to shed some light on the problems I am having with this beastie. It belongs to the son of one of my regulars and finance is an issue. Initially it had a problem with high idle speed and a stutter/lurch which he cured himself by fitting a complete throttle body from another car with a better injector and after I had cleaned up the idle motor idled well and drove nicely for a short while.
  • Buying Zafira and pushing for best deal 18 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Hi all, my sister and her hubby want a new Zafia and I have offered to get the best deal and speak to the dealers on their behalf. They want an SRi and want new but have no capital to put towards it. They want 0% finance, however I am thinking it might be better to get a cheap loan over say 3 years. The cost of this might be covered by getting pre reg, any comments? When I buy cars, I normally do the test drive, ask about stock/delivery time, then do the deal over the phone .
  • Any CR-V owners / feedback? 22 May 2007 (Forum)
Have looked at other mpvs and I don't really see anything that is better than my Scenic. However, I do like the CR-V, and although finances won't stretch to the new model, at a push I could maybe afford an old shape one. But it would need to be a diesel. So my choices really boil down to keeping the Scenic or going for a CR-V if I can afford it.
  • Help!!! Cambelt failure - Vauxhall MPV 28 Sep 2005 (Forum)
The garage where she purchased the car are not interested, becuase the guarantee is not valid now, neither the finance company are interested, they just want their money each month. The way I see it, the problem seems to be the cambelt, its done exactly 8000 miles and snapped. Now the scenario is or was it a defect belt, or was the belt put on to tight.
  • Help please! Newbie ... 15 Mar 2005 (Forum)
We have been driving (and towards the end, bunny hopping and lane drifting) in a fifteen year old fiesta. Enough is enough! we need a new car! We're going to have to get it on some kind of finance and I don't want to be paying for it in my old age so I guess around £5 - £6K is what we'll be looking at. I'm after a used car but not too old. We have a dog and I am sick of her jumping on my lap in the back or trying to leap over and drive with my boyfriend - so I need a car with a big enough boot for a standard schnauzer.
  • Have you heard about the Renault con 6 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Consequently the car cannot achieve anywhere near the fuel economy stated nor its maximum speed nor its acceleration (You have to go into 3rd gear to get to 60 mph) Renault will have nothing of it and after 6 months of battling I have been advised to take the matter up with the Finance Company, which i am doing. I have test driven another Laguna and it performs exactly as mine. I had a Clio 1.4 as a courtesy car and it does the same road speeds through the gears as my 2.0 Laguna!
  • :-( Car Theft 24 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I am now looking at a serious cost impact - steep 1st year depreciation on the S80 (which I was going to ride to year 4) means I will probably be in a finance deficit when the claim is settled. And that's before interim car hire costs, excess, time and effort replacing missing items etc. What are opinions on replacement - looking at maybe 12 grand when aforementioned fiannce hole has been dealt with.
  • Howmuch!!! Daewoo second hand pricing 2 Jan 2003 (Forum)
I have been pricing at well below the glasses guide price (by about a grand) but not even a nibble. I am not prepared to reduce the price below what I still have outstanding on the finance but at the moment the monthly payments are sunk costs as the car is sat in my drive unused. I would have thought that GM taking over Daewoo would have put the confidence back into the market but it does not seem to be the case.
  • Vauxhall Discounts 10 Jul 2002 (Forum)
I am going for a test drive in the diesal (they have brought uit in for me as no other dealer seems to have one is this a point to show how keen they are to sell) but I am wordering what sort of price I should be aiming for should I try and get a price simliar to that of companies drive the deal.com or import prices also should I try and financ eht dela or use there 0% interst loan given that i should have the required deposit . I have no use for the years free insurance due to being 19 so that should knock the price down. ALso what sort of discount should I be looking at for accesories (Alarm or ABS).

I have had my Nissan Juke since last September. It was starting to shudder but I didn’t think it could be anything serious or a red light would show. I’ve...
