  Hi there, everythings in order with the fuel lines etc, but surely if there was a problem with fueling and air why would the bike run fine in 1,2,3 gears, thats what I can't get my head around, could the prob be with the spark plugs/coils ??? in 4,5,6 gears the engine would be under more load ???? In 3rd at 14000 rpm I'm doing about 85 mph then changing up to 4th the bike starts being unresponsive and speed wil drop until revs are around 5000 but I can feel the bike wanting to go but just does'nt get there,its weird.

  my sharan diesel is running badly. at low revs its fine but when i ask for full throttle the turbo comes in and out. i found a small hole in the waste gate vacume pipe and have since changed this. the waste gate linkage seems to move ok. its not seized. i have had a new air mass fitted and its been on the vag computer and didnt show any faults. the mechanic said could be the turbo but at the prices they are i need to be sure.

  Hi, as the title suggests I have a MkV Golf 1.4 FSi and the exhaust system warning light is lit (not flashing). I am under the impression that this could mean a lambda probe problem, however the engine is running quite rough at idle. Could anybody shed any light onto what could potentially be wrong? Currently not driving it untill I have the time to take it to mechanics, Thanks

  hi all ,ive a a4 tdi engine code afn ,i replaced the engine due to the turbo running on engine oil , i sourced a engine from a running car 78000 miles, engine starts perfectly ,just no boost , all the sencors are off old engine so work ,when the mecahnic came yesterday ,he said that it could be that the catalyct convertor is blocked .due to the old turbo running on engine oil ,.Is he right in saying that oil could block the cat ?

  hi guys got a 1999 astra mk4 1.6 16v which is running on 3 cylinders, on removal of the spark plug one of them was covered in oil which is obviously causing the problem, as you look under the bonnet its the one farest right, that however is the end on my mechanical knowledge :-( what causes this and more importantly how much should it cost to put right thanks in advance for any help you can give me gaz

  engine runs perfect when in park and can be revved up, but as soon as a load is put on the engine it starts to mess around. travelling along the road it will sometimes run ok but then when acceleration occurs it will missfire until a cruising speed is reached and the throttle is eased off and then it runs ok. it only ever seems to be one cylinder. it's easy to determine this because the one that is misfiring is also the one that has a small leak from exhaust gasket which has been there for almost a year and ran perfect before...........

  It starts fine but one it has warmed up the emmisions and cooling lights come on, the rev counter drops to nothing and loses power. It will still run but there is hardly any power there and other times it will just cut out. It has been checked for faults but it comes up fine. Does any body know what the problem could be?

  Hi, Got a 2 lt TDCi amd have had no problems until last night. I started the car and it made a slight knocking noise and then cut out, it sounded like it was running on one or two cylinders, it turns over but won;t start and the heater glow plug warning light stays on.   The mechanic said that there was a plug lead not fitted properly and all was OK until now (a few months ago)........the car starts and runs fine but after a normal run if I have to stop for a short time the car then misfires, as if its not running on all cylinders,,,,it smooth no pops or bangs but it only happens under the situation above, I was wondering if there could be a faulty plug fitted that was failing under high temperature..any ideas.

  Hey guys i have a golf mk2 series 1, its a sweeet little runner, only 32,000 on the clock I am just concerned that it is running tooo hot? The needle comes up quicky to 90degrees (right on the light) then............. it hovers between going over it sometimes so the whole needle is past the light. sometimes it will stay there others not but most of the time will be over the light. should i be concerned, and if so what shall i do????

  Is thier a problem or not? The car has only covered 40,000 km, the car is run in the middle east where the ambient temperature is 30-40c for most of the year. The car generally runs well, no misfires, offers strong acceleration etc etc. I have not noticed any leaks etc any replies appreciated..

  Depreciation-wise it worked out to be £500 per annum. Which of the following would work out cheapest to run? Both of the following will be de-fleeted by end of month. Both are going to be £7000.   I was giving my Mk 2 1.6 Golf a bit of a run yesterday. It was running too rich (the waxstat is getting worse, but I should be sorting that out soon) and after about 20 mins on the motorway, it was starting to get very hesitant. There was a drop in power and I had to floor it to get stop it dropping in speed.
