• Renault Scenic (1999 - 2003) - 99 1.6 exhaust manifold 15 Jan 2010 (Forum)
  My garage has stated that it is the exhaust manifold where the problem lay. They also state the manifold consists of one piece which is welded to a 'chamber' . Renault have quoted oner £450 pounds for this. I have spoken to and recieved a manifold from a parts renault specialist which does include the chamber and it has been guareenteed to fit/replace. WITHOUT this chamber the manifold sits about a foot away from the next section of the exhaust.

  My Father has a 1998 1.6 Renault Scenic automatic. It is kept in a garage. Twice in the last three months it has not started and had to be recovered to the local Renault dealer. Both times it had stood overnight in the garage. The dealer has now decided that the UCH (universal control hub?)

  Haven't had time to look for links, but saw on the News tonight that Renault have turned in a massive profit this year, one of the most profitable car companies in the world. Not sure how much, if any, of it is state owned now but there seems to be some similarities between it and Rover.

  - whereabouts should I be expecting the needle to sit under normal driving (there is no useful "N" marking, and the handbook is useless on this point). Also, on a related subject, does anyone know whether there is a forum specifically for Renault owners - I've looked at the Renault Owner's club site, but can't see any forums and am not clear whether modern cars like the Megane are included. There also doesn't appear to be any contact details for the club that I could find.

  Last year I bought a Renault Megane 1.9dCi and was told by the service technician at the dealership from whom I bought the car that i should only use a full synthetic 5W-40 oil for top up. At 9000 miles I had the optional oil change in France using this grade of oil at a local Renault dealership ( by the way the price would make you smile !
