  • NA - Insurance Price Hike! 12 Oct 2016 (Forum)
Last year I was driving a 20 y.o. Vectra 2.5 V6. This year I am driving a 12 y.o X-type with a 2.1 V6. The Vectra was the faster car. However my reneal came through today and the premium is 120% higher. It seems an incredible increase for a car that is worth maybe 2 - 2.5 times more.

  • Skoda Fabia - Alignment needed ?? 12 Jun 2016 (Forum)
Yesterday with the wife driving she heavily hit a rather high kerb with the front nearside wheel. Only a week or two ago I had two new front tyres on the front and a specialist wheel tracking done. The steering wheel alignment has not altered and there feels no difference in driving.

  • MINI Convertible 2010 - clutch/flywheel 4 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I contacted you before but failed to make clear that the car is less than 3 years old and owned from new. I would be grateful to know what sort of driving style could lead to catastriphic clutch failure after only 11300 miles. The pattern of driving is no different from previous cars with similar annual low mileage. I always thought that low mileage was a selling point for used cars Minimugged

  • Vauxhall Agilla 2009 - - Bunt out replacement clutch after 9 miles 21 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Father in Law's car done 2303 miles - clutch burnt out - 3 piece clutch kit replaced but that burnt out after driving 9 miles.  Appreciate he can ride the clutch sometimes in traffic - but is it likely to be burnt out by his driving after only 9 miles?   Would appreciate any comments.  Have a good Christmas.
  • Ford Kuga - Noise Issue 13 Aug 2012 (Forum)
The local Ford dealership has been unable to identify the cause, possibly because their test drive was too short.  Has anyone else experienced this problem, or can suggest a cause and solution?

  • Volvo S40 - Volvo diesel- sound and vibration 9 Feb 2012 (Forum)
In 2,3 and 4 at medium speeds it feels like engine is not performing well (like its stalling). When driving at 60+ the car is great drive and nothing wrong. What can cause a car to act so badly at low speeds?
  • Volkswagen Golf IV tdi - temp gauge 25 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Hi all, I've just bought a Mk4 Golf gt tdi 130 and even though it drives well the temp gauge hardly moves from the minimum position even after 30 mins driving. Sometimes it seems to be rising and then goes back down again. Is it just a sensor or is the coolant just not getting hot enough.
  • Any - Supermarket parking 6 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Just had a discussion/debate with a retired couple. My view is its better to reverse into a supermarket parking space. However, they like to drive in forwards so they can leave the trolley in the roadway and load shopping bags. I'd rather reverse, carry shopping bags from trolley to boot of car and then easily drive out forwards. This couple vehemently disagreed, yet the wife conceded that when reversing out she'd hit another car!!!
