Fully Chromed Up PUG SW 7 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I used to see this old guy in the local high street driving a Lada which was covered in red "go faster stripes" and huge fog lamps on the front. When I say old, I mean he must be in his 70's, trilby hat, tartan blanket on the parcel shelf etc. He has now upgraded his car to a Pug 407SW in that delightful met' blue. -

Volkswagen - New car - big and basic or small with toys? 25 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Pondering something here. I'm looking at new VWs, my price range (17-18k) will cover a basic Passat diesel, or a Golf TDI with a higher spec, and a bit of a nippier performance. It doesn't make that much difference to me, I like both cars, but what would you do and why? thanks. -

Volkswagen Golf IV (1998 - 2004) - Golf clutch faulty 23 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Looking at the service history it had a new clutch fitted 6 months previous. Having contacted the local VW dealer they said take the car in it may be covered under warranty. The car was booked in clutch stripped. Phone call "Needs a flywheel sir, and clutch, all in £760" . Because its the flywheel no warranty cover. Has anyone else been suckered in by the main agent before. -
Mazda MX5 (1998-2005) - Paintwork Quality 10 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Bonnet covered in stone chips. Front covered in stone chips. Now she is not an enthusiastic driver and certainly not an enthusiastic cleaner of her car (I found Safeway receipts in it - they closed down over 2 years ago!) -

Dmage to car at garage 2 Mar 2006 (Forum)
I have a Vectra where a warranty problem on the fuel system has been so hard to fix I left it with the dealer yesterday for 2 days .The dealer is 15 miles away,, and I am self-emploed, so round-trips are a waste of time and money. Collecting the car today, they told me the fuel problem was fixed but when I went to the car I found it had been damaged. the cover for the drivers door mirror had gone.It was there yesterday morning. When I went back after a lot of shuffling abut they looked at the car, then dug out workshop papers which showed the mechanic had noted the missing cover while he had it . -
Skoda Octavia Estate - Extended Warranty issue with Skoda 8 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Part of that purchase was a service and MOT contract (and as it trasnpires alongside this was a 1 year warranty on the car) The car developed issues with its air conditioning during the summer of 2015, I took it into the dealer who service and re gassed, and it worked fine for a couple of weeks before stopping working again, when I took the car in for its MOT shortly after I asked them to have another look at the air conditioning, they did, stating the compressor was broken, and told me it would be £1234 to repair. -
Driving using 3rd party insce ext of my policy 21 Jul 2008 (Forum)
If I drive a friends car which is not currently insured (is taxed and mot'd) using the 3rd party cover of my own policy, is it legal to leave it A) parked on the road or B) in a retail shopping centre car park as I presume it would then be classed as uninsured. -
More Cuts 30 Mar 2005 (Forum)
As a Police Officer in the Worcestershire area thought I'd let you know what's happening in the Redditch/Kidderminster area. Those that wield power have cut the number of traffic/fast response cars to cover this massive rural area to.....two, both ARVs. This is on the basis that they can run four Corsas for the cost of one Omega/Vectra. The place to be to commit car crime. -
oil changes 13 Mar 2003 (Forum)
I have a 6 month old Honda S2000 which cost me a fortune to buy and I will keep for a lifetime. The car has only covered 1800 miles since new and at most will not exceed 5000 miles a year. The car , when used, is driven high into the rev limit. Would it be sensible to have regular 6 monthly oil changes. -
pattern parts 10 Dec 2000 (Forum)
My car is a 91 1.6 Astra which has covered 76000 miles. I change the oil regularly and was wondering what the difference is between a filter costing £2 from a local motor factor and either a champian filter from Halfords or GM from Vaxhaull. -
