  My 02 2.0 HDi Rapier 90 has a problem while driving along the whole dash goes blank no aelectrics working, that is no indicators, wipers, radio, electric windows etc no display. The engine keeps running and i can keep driving but when I stop you cannot start, engine cranks but due to no dash display of any kind it will not start. I disconnect battery and reconnect then all display comes back but then a little while later it loses everything again.

  hi there john, when dome fuse ie is fuse box there is a sssshhhhhhhh noise cominf from speakers, even when radio is turned off. we have changed fuse, it still does the same. when fuse is taken out the noise stops but then we lose central locking can you please help. toyota previa 1993 k reg, 2.4 auto {which part of the 3 separate requests asking for the year and engine details to be included in the subject header are you finding SO difficult to understand?}

  The Driver Manual (Handbook ) is missing. Anyone know where I can get one? Usually I am pretty good with figuring all the toys (Radio, NAV, computer out, but cant see how to change the dam clock etc! I will be blowed if I am paying Toyota for a new one, a scrapyad may have one. same goes for a spare key £125 at the dealer, any other options?

  I recently received a letter from a company which claim to hold records of the code etched on my car windows, as well as the radio code and ignition key number. The vehicle in question was recently bought by myself (2nd. hand),and these details were probably given to them by the previous owner. They are asking for a one-off payment of £20 to re-register the information in my name.

  Also, what are the three connectors on the top block, my new stereo does not have any connectors here, they are marked DA, CL, and MRQ on the old radio ? I,ll be grateful for any help, many thanks.

  Why on earth are they re-running that tv & radio ad, persuding us it's OK, to run into a child at 30mph? Guess you know the one I mean .... childs voice...hit me at 40 & I'll probably die.. hit me at 30, maybe I'll live... Oh that's all right then, I won't bother to avoid you, then.

• Pug 206 CC - High pitched noise 19 Jan 2007 (Forum)
  The noise is quite loud and goes after a while when the key is removed from the ignition. Turning radio on or off has no effect. Are there any 206 owners out there who have experienced similar problems? Is it just a simple case of replacing movement sensors? Thanks S.

  The instrument lights were permanently on (even after locking the car) the speedometer would not work, the fuel gauge showed empty and had only done 90 miles on a full tank. The radio has gone haywire, indicators would not work, odometer would not work, air bag light and headlight indicator on. I disconnected the battery and waited a few minutes to allow the computer to reset. Connected the battery back up and it seems to have cured the problem.

  A mate of mine has a P reg Pug 406 1.8 16 valve petrol model with non functioning speedometer/tacho and other unusual symptoms such as the radio coming on for no reason. The speedo transducer on the gearbox was changed as it was tested and was not outputting any signal (it is the fully electronic type) the speedo then worked for a few days but has now failed again.

  It works - but I'm having problems getting it to scroll through the address book. The symptoms are that I can do it from the <> keys on the radio itself (Sony 6CD) but not the stalk SEEK buttons as its supposed to do according to the manual. Does anyone have experience of the factory fitted kit in a Mondeo? Thanks in anticipation. Robert

  Are these aerials used for tracking tracker-type devices? 2. The unmarked Golf that they got into later - passenger PC has the radio on his shoulder but then uses an old telephone handpiece (like you used to see in Juliet Bravo) as well. Why would that be? Why, in all these programs, do the police never seem to have some sort of handsfree unit?

  Apparently this is an import, hence the 2.8 petrol, as opposed to the 2.4. Audi A6 SE 2.8 Saloon 30 500 miles Registration X November 2000 Manual gearbox (5 gears) CD radio (temperamental) 6 CD jukebox Green/blue Metallic paint (some small repairs needed) UK spec import MOT renewed November 2005 - 12 months remaining. A relative is looking to sell this soon, when the new one comes.

  The radio cassette in my wife's Mk1 Punto is rubbish, so I'd like to replace it with a CD Tuner. Nothing fancy and certainly nothing bling with flashing lights etc. that would appeal to the chav community. Have any backroomers bought one recently that they would recommend?

  I'm thinking of buying a Mondeo Ghia X through Ford Direct, and I read on here that a lot of the upper spec ICE units get nicked as they're easy upgrades for lower spec units. 1) Does this still happen on the later, Sony, units? 2) Is this also an issue with Ford's Sat Nav? I've had a car in the past where the radio got nicked twice and I ended up having to remove it every night. That's not a practical proposition with the large Ford units these days. I also really fancy the Sat Nav, but not if it's going to get nicked.

  ...also my boot fitted 6CD changer has stopped. The changer itself seems to work but is not showing any response in the car...radio and tape player work.....any advice? Many thanks in advance...

  I have bought a non-OE replacement, which has different co-axial fittings! I've since been told that the VW base unit has a built in amplifier and without it the Sony Radio wont work properly. I've been quoted £65 by my local VW agent for a replacement! Has anyone any experience of fitting non OE aerials as replacements, Do they work properly ? and what about the adaptors to fit the replacement aerial to the VW jack plug ?

  the temp gauge seems to vary a bit it seems to be running cool. some times it will go upto almost halfway then it drops to about a quarter the way up the gauge and seems to stay there. would the high idling cause a mot fail many thanks in advance ps does any one know how to take the radio out. and is it coded it is a standard toyota rad cass. the year is 1996

  Once again on some radio phone-in Ive heard people argue for a reduction in alocohol-in-blood limits . It misses the point that most people caught for DUI are way over the current limit . So they haven't been trying to judge "How much is OK" but have acted without considering the law at all or the morals involved.

  We have just bought a Seat Leon - a great value car in most respects, however, the factory fit 'Aura' radio/cassette isn't really to my liking. Has anyone out there done a ICE upgrade on a Seat Leon? In my previous car (A4) I changed the head unit from dealer supplied Sony to a Kenwood without changing the speakers and was happy with the result.
