Automatic car alternator not charging battery 30 Oct 2020 (Forum)
When driving a automatic car battery dies due to alternator failure when driving up a steep hill, car cuts out and rolls downhill. Brakes do not work, steering neither, handbrake disengages, all due to battery being completely dead. -

MOT expired and stopped, please help 5 Jul 2020 (Forum)
I bought my son his first car is September last year and was told it had a new MOT, he got stopped today as the MOT ran out last December!! He is worried sick as only driving since late January. The police let him drive home and said he would get a letter, can anyone advise what to expect? The car is in my name. -
Mazda B-Series - Low emission zone fine 15 Apr 2019 (Forum)
Hi all, I've just been slapped with a £250 fine for inadvertently driving within the London low emission zone, in my old Mazda pick-up. I was under the impression that you were issued with a warning for the first time you were picked up driving in the LEZ (not the reason I drove within it BTW) Anything I can do about it? -
Ford Focus - Hot air blowing from drivers footwell air outlet 31 Jul 2018 (Forum)
All fans and air con are off but it is constantly blowing out hot air. Car is not over heating and engine coolant is filled correct levels. Please help as it is driving me mad. And need to know if it is major and safe to drive. -
Vauxhall Meriva 2014, 19000 miles, Vauxhall FSH - Power steering failure 10 Jul 2018 (Forum)
The power steering control module has an INTERMITTENT problem. Sometimes it works, but can fail at any time when driving. This means it is NOT burnt out, but clearly makes it rather dangerous to drive. Has anyone else had this problem with a Meriva B, as opposed to the older model (Meriva A) ? Any help, experience or advice would be greatly appreciated. -
Small car recommendation 15 May 2018 (Forum)
I am starting a new job that will involve driving 100 motorway miles a day. I need to buy a new car that is economical, suitable for motorways and that my recently passed 18 year old can drive without me having to sell a kidney to insure. My budget is about £3500 I was thinking possibly a Toyota Aygo but I would be grateful for any recommendations as I know very little about small cars. -
KIA Sportage - Three winter tyres OK? 11 Dec 2017 (Forum)
Got a nail in one of my winter tyres at weekend. Had to replace with full-size spare, but this is summer tyre. Offside rear. Car is front-wheel drive, 2 litre diesel. Is it unsafe to drive? Hoping to trade car in soon, so don't really want to buy new winter tyre. Would it be safer, given that it's currently -4c, to put all summer tyres back on? -

Got my Alignment fixed and it drives perfectly straight, the issue was the steer ahead was off and the car was driving to the right when the wheel was centered, but since the alignment fix it now feels like the front left side sits slightly lower. -

Hi I have ford focus 2008 2.0 TDCI, on a occassion whilst driving and if the car has been left a few days. I start driving and an the car moves into limp mode and I cannot hear the turbo. After a while the problem will clear and all will be good. then it happens again, it seems to happen around every 4 weeks. -

Got a mk5 diesel astra, brakes keep sticking,had new calipers all round,new pads and discs and a new master cylinder, bled loads of times but now and again they start to seize on,if I turn off the engine and pump the brake pedal a few times it cures the problem and I van drive maybe 30 miles before it does it again, driving me crazy now, any ideas???? -
POlice Car Ramming 4 Nov 2015 (Forum)
One of the Police officers allowed himself to be rammed five times, car was damaged and he lost the van he was persuing. Bizzare driving? Also did anyone watch the series on rookie cops in Norfolk (I think), end of probation they were given keys to police cars and allowed to drive on lights and siren. Do they not have to be on the force five years or so then pass tests? -
Renault Clio - car insurance for car bought in France 2 Sep 2015 (Forum)
We have bought a car in France and want to drive it back to UK from the south of France. Only problem is we can't see how to get insurance for this. Once in UK we can get chassis number insurance to drive it here whilst waiting for it to be registered in UK. -

I just got in my car to drive and it seemed to shudder whilst driving then I noticedthe warning light on. I had only driven for a minute so just went back home. Any idea what it could be? it's nearly 8 years old but is regularly serviced. the last service was 3 months ago. it's done about 55k miles -

from the numpties that choose to tailgate car drivers. I have to say this is about the most intimidating and unsettling driving style ever. Tonight it was a British one in a '30' limit. These drivers should hand in their licence telling their boss they are no longer fit to drive. Failing that, I won't write here what I would like to do to these individuals. -

Hi, I wondered if anyone could shed any light on why the EML starts to flash sometimes while driving and goes out and may flash again 30 miles later for a few minutes and then go out. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to it. Could it be a sensor or maf unit playing up. Car drives as normal and starts well. -
Volkswagen CC - Seat stuck in position 22 Apr 2014 (Forum)
Morning all, My work colleagues wife has a vw CC, 2012, I think. They both went out driving and he moved the seat back so he could drive her car. Now the seat won't move back or forward. He says he can see three pins moving when he uses the lever but nothing happens. Any ideas please. Many thanks Pablo -

vauxhall vectra 51 plate - rear leak 6 Sep 2012 (Forum)
Hi i have a 51 plate diesel vectra and i have a patch of oil like stuff on my drive but it is from where the rear of the car is around the rear wheels, would love any suggestions on what could be leaking. i only drive it five miles before getting to work and it is now showing on work carp park too look forward to any ideas Lee
