  • Some pre-MOT questions please! 18 Jun 2005 (Forum)
Obviously I know there may be other things that have cropped up since the last MOT, but if anyone could enlighten me on the following I would be grateful. Last MOT stated 2 'Advices', namely: M (or N?)/S/F C/V Boot; and O/S/R outer sill. I'd be really appreciative to hear what these are, if they are big jobs, what money I'm looking at, and anything else that might be helpful. I'm booking it in tomorrow, and I'd really like to go a little more knowledgable than i really am!

  • stop-start driving from cold? advise? 27 Aug 2004 (Forum)
BUT, here\'s the rub... manaufacturers advise getting in the car and driving off staright away. Effectively this morning I was \'idling\' for 20 minutes! TWICE I turned the engine off, and restarted a few minutes later.

  • Crash who should pay? 10 Jun 2004 (Forum)
I was recently involved in an accident, the situation is this, near where I live is an alleyway that crosses the road, there is no restrictions in terms of speed or barriers to stop someone from riding their bike from the alleyway on one side of the road to the other side, on this particular day three kids (about 12 or 13 years old) were chasing each other (their words) and the lead rider failed to stop for the road (again in their words) fortunately, because of the road layout I was driving slowly, however the lead rider ran into the nearside front of the car, the bike pedal putting a hole in the bodywork near the fog light, the repair bill is in the £400 to £500?s region, I asked the father of the bike rider to pay for the repair, and he has refused, saying it?s a knock for knock situation, I don?t see it that way, am I being unreasonable? The rider who was knock down did suffer bangs and bruises nothing more thank goodness, and her bike was badly damaged, but none the less, I believe the dad should pay, what do you think?
  • Girl Talk Thread. 30 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Females are free to note anywhere they wish in the Backroom as is everybody else. Personally I wouldn\'t want to be treated differently, but that\'s just me. Can we let the subject drop of whether or not it should exist, and just accept that it does. We\'ve allowed discussion on the subject, but enough is enough. If its used it will survive, and if it isn\'t used it will not.

  • What to replace her with? 8 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Right - as you can see the M3's going as we need something more practical due to us selling our Scenic for a new astra convertible! Therefore we are in need of either a small/medium hatchback capable of putting 2 border collies in the back every now and then OR an estate car!

  • Mazda CX5 - Commitment to Diesel 11 Feb 2022 (Forum)
Surprising to see Mazda s commitment to diesel after all the negative comments reported by owners on this site about major problems whilst shortly out of warranty . Lets hope they have finally sorted the DPF issues as the road tests indicate that the extra power from the diesel gives it the performance lacking in the petrol.

SK paid a huge amount of money for an Audi A4 quattro S line 2.0TDI and is moaning because the road tax is £90 a year more than they thought. Seriously? Probably the same sort that skimp on their insurance and servicing.
