  Hello, I have just put down a deposit on a new car (delivery miles only) from Motorpoint. The car is a UK spec import pre-registered in August 2009. As an import it has the full 2 year manufacturer's warranty but no extra year's dealer warranty as you normally get in the UK. I have been offered an extra year's warranty from Motorpoint for £399 and a further year (bringing total warranty to 4 years) for £299.

  My much loved Impreza WRX import has to go - a change of circumstances meaning 20,000 miles a year and a recent engine rebuild (ouch!) has forced the issue... I'm thinking that one of these modern turbo diesels which handles well may be the way to go?

  He has worked out that it would be slightly cheaper for him to run his own car, bought 6months-2years old, than it would be to continue with a new company Mondeo. The replacement car would likely be Focus-sized, with decent bootspace still important, but cabinspace not so much. It must be diesel (for driving preference) and have not dissimilar performance to his current 130bhp diesel. He's not really fussed about image - good value is more important.
