  hi , please can anyone help me had my car for bout 2 months now , i wanted to downsize for cheaper tax n insurance etc , and i made a stupid mistake by swapping this car for my focus ghia 2.0 , the guy that swapped is a best friends partner and did lots of replacement stuff on the peugeot before handing it over to me the car is really doin my head in now , it simply cuts out everytime i turn the engine on for the first time after entering the car , it also is using alot of petrol to say it's only a 1.4 engine around 30 pounds a week petrol which is same as i was putting in the focus 2.0  it works fine once i restart the engine and as soon as i stop and turn engine off , the same thing happens again , even if i have left car for 2 mins to pop into shop , which seems silly as the engine would still be warm , so don't think it's a cold start error it's had new battery , plugs , had full service , filter replacement p.s is it me or are the peugeots slow cars ??

  I have a Peugeot 306 2.0 Hdi (W reg) and I must say I am quite attached to my car, (probably a girl thing). Since September it has been to the Peugeot dealers 6 times because of the Engine Diagnostic light coming on, also the 'symptoms' have been minor, varied and intermittent, including, a reluctance to pull away on first drive after light comes on and running away without foot on accelerator, other times there's nothing to indicate a problem except that it doesn't 'feel' quite right.
