  I know there have been a lot of problems with the Citroen/Peugeot/BMW/Mini 1.6 THP petrol engine: chain tensioner, (turbo?) and carbon deposits. Is there a safe date after which they can be considered reliable? In particular, I'm looking at a 2013 C4 Picasso with 1.6 THP - worth buying or better to avoid?

  Hi all Does anyone know of (or is) a mechanic in the Stockport area who'd be willing to go and inspect an old-style Mini that I've seen for sale and phone me with a condition report? I can't get there in the next few days and the only other alternative I can think of is the (pricey) RAC inspection service. Open to any other suggestions though!

  My girlfriend has a Mini Cooper Convertible, and apart from it being the most impractical car ever, she loves it to bits. A problem she is having witht it is the back window getting filthy as soon as it rains, to the point where you actually struggle to see out, especially at night.

  There are several just delivered, still sealed Range Rovers, Discos etc in a local mini pound. I was surprised that all had large (some very large) clip on balance weights on their wheels. I was not expecting to see clip on weights but rather the stick on types. Cost surely cannot be the reason on cars of this price range.
