What should we buy to replace our Ford Fiesta?

We wish to change my wife's car - a 2012 Ford Fiesta Zetec. Our minimum requirements are a small car (about same size as current Fiesta), five doors, automatic, petrol, sat nav and a minimum 1.3-litre.

Reliability is very important and we're looking at new or recent second hand (no more than 2 years old)

Have you any recommendations? MINI, Polo, Corsa, Clio, i20, 208, Ibiza?

You can't really go wrong with any of the options you've mentioned, perhaps aside from the MINI, which is still a little lacking in practicality even in the five-door version. Our pick in this part of the market would be the Skoda Fabia (related to the Polo and Ibiza), although most you'll come across will use a 1.0-litre engine, which is common for the segment. It suits the car just fine, but if you're set on a larger engine, some higher-spec versions come with a 1.5-litre inline-four. Each is available with an automatic gearbox. You'll also need to double-check the spec of any you're looking at, as not all trim grades have navigation - some will require you to connect your phone via Android Auto/Apple CarPlay and use your device's mapping software (e.g. Google Maps).
