    The reason I am asking is all modern cars I have owned are approximately 5-8 mpg over what the actual reading is! Volkswagen included. I would be interested to see if people actually base the odometer miles on tank size/amount of fuel required at fill up as oppose to what the average fuel computer says. I have owned my current VW Golf GTD for 2 years 5 months now.

  I have never been able to understand why Audis, Skodas and SEATs have 3 years of free breakdown cover from new, but Volkswagens only one, despite otherwise identical 3-year warranties. I eventually got round to sending VW an E-mail to ask the question.  Someone rang me last week and gave what he thought was an explanation.

  We know there is incorrect info about the kerb weight?. I have searched around on the net and found a site ( http://www.dieselcar.com/volkswagen-frame.html ) that states that the kerb weight is as low as 1566kgs and with the 85% rule made it not a suitable car to pull my previous load. Getting to the point where do I stand under the consumer rights act if VW UK confirm the above as I stand to loose a packet if I need to change my car to a suitable vehicle.

  Usually just myself and one other person + dog in the car.  I like the look of the Audi Q2, BMW X1, Mercedes GLA, Volkswagen T - Roc and the Tiguan, and the Volvo Xc40    Any advice, on any of those would be fantastic. Best suited to my needs, best mpg, best engine/spec, any you'd avoid.    Thanks :)

  I have also found that seats, where you can adjust the tilt of the cushion you sit on, are the most comfortable however I have only found this on newer cars and I do not have that amount of money to put down at the moment. I was advised to only stick with Japanese, BMW, maybe ford focus and Volkswagen auto boxes. If anyone here could help me out with anything more info that would be a great help. Thanks in advance

  I am using all genuine VAG Parts - oil filter is genuine, as is the Longlife Quantum III 507.00 spec oil. Surely any inspection if it came to it would show that all parts were genuine Volkswagen. Thanks for any assistance. I have a long holiday journey in May to make and would feel happier knowing it had fresh oil in, and more importantly a new filter!

  Surely the latest common rail 2.0 140bhp or better still the 170bhp VAG diesels would have been superb in such a small package. Volkswagen Golf GT Tdi 130 PD (or the 150PD)? It would certainly leave the Mk IV 2.0 petrol GTi Golf for dust was probably quicker than the 1.8T petrol 150 bhp Golf too ir day to day conditions. Do we have to wait for the BMW 123d to really see some action around the 200bhp mark?
