• Mini 1000 Battery draining 9 Apr 2007 (Forum)
  I bought a 1991 Mini 1000 three weeks ago which had been sitting for a while. No problems for the first 10 days then flat battery one morning. Charged battery and it started fine. Switched off engine, went to restart and the battery was dead. Bought new battery, fine. Few days later, went to start car and the battery was dead.

  Today I got the battery light up on the dash along with FAULT-BATTERY CHARGE. At the same time my power steering became non-existant. I've tried to access the battery, which is stupidly located under the passenger seat, but cant manage to tilt the seat up enough to get access to the battery compartment.

  hi there i have a remote key entry system on my car and the batteries were dead so bought two new cr 2016 batteries as advised on this site but when i opened the key to put them in the batteries flew out lol now i have no idea how to replace them again have tried various ways but to no avail please can someone help me out with how the batteries go into the fob what sides are down and up lol thanks in advance

  To date I have had to remove the battery from the car once the start stop system stops working (this apparently happens once the battery drops below 65% charge) and charging it with my CTEK CT5 battery charger. Replacement Q85 batteries are expensive and I don’t much fancy having to replace one because it got damaged by being discharged too much.

  However after fitting a new battery, all the warning lights above came on again AND the Cannot Apply Parking Brake warning light and constant buzzer warning for this comes on when driving. Also, after fitting the new battery the brake lights don't come on!

  Well, that is the same spiel I have had to give to every vauxhall salesperson who wanted to know \"why\" I wanted to take the battery out. No one seems to know (and Mr. Haynes has not published a manual for this mark of Corsa yet) how to take the battery out - there is a plastic sill at the bottom of the windscreen which just covers the battery compartment, and is therefore preventing the battery from being removed.

  What is the BRs advice on car batteries. I have an 06 Focus with the original Ford battery. So out of warranty and coming up to 4 years old. My experience with Fords is that their batteries in the past don't last long, and I've usually had to replace everyone.

  Has two batteries, which are apparently running at 25-40% efficiency. Personally I'd probably have replaced just one on the grounds that 1) I'm stingy 2) Does a car REALLY need 2 batteries - I know Toyota advertise putting 2 batteries in the Hilux so as to avoid being let down if one dies.

  Needed batteries for both keys on a Toyota. The battery is a pretty common 'button' type(CR1616) also used in watches etc. As I was passing the Toyota garage I called in - they wanted £13.90 for the 2. So I went to a shop that specialises in batteries and bought both for a total of £3.74.
