  Hi. VW Bora 1.6 8V (2000 reg) After the car only running on 3 cylinders we tryed every HT lead and found in the end that one of the spark plugs had gone pn #2 cylinder . So we changed it yesterday and all was running fine for 1 day. Was running around in the car yesterday and when we set off from the lights it started running on 3 again.

  Hi guys Not sure if this has been asked before, but just wondering, is there any second hand car options out there that look like they would cost a lot of money to run, but are surprisingly cheap? Just wondering, as I wouldn't want to dismiss any cars because I assume they are too expensive to run. E.g. nice BMW's, 4x4's etc. Not sure if this makes sense or is a daft question, but thought i'd ask :p Thanks

  my 2001 zafira has the coolant light flashing on and off on the dash board the coolant levels are ok all so when i turn on the ignition but dont start the engine the radiator fan and the ac fan starts to run when the engine is started the fans still run all so hard to start when cold but when the engine is warm it starts every time changed glow plugs and no trouble codes

  hi my 2005 zafira had a bang which i had repaired,nothing major just cosmetics,bumper radiator etc.it was running ok up untill then,then it would run then cut out and now it will not start at all.thers no fuel getting through and no spark at plugs,ive changed coil pack which made no differance at all.if anyone could help it would be very much appreciated thanks for reading.

  Hi All I have a 1998 Mondeo TD, When air con is switched on the car runs like a pig (i know air con saps some power but this seems a bit extreme). If i remove the air con belt and switch on there is still a drain on engine maybee ecu should tell the injector pump to run differently when air con is on, but in this case going wrong somewhere!

  Now - I know I don't like cold mornings but nor does my car either it seems. It's a 1997 Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo, and after standing it runs very 'lumpy' at first, after a couple of miles the problems gone. The lumpy running is like poor throttle response, and jerkiness. Can anyone suggest what a mechanical novice like myself can check /clean/twiddle or whatever.

  I've heard that it is possible to run diesel engines on vegetable oil, but that additives are required. What are the additives? Does it affect the engine life? Is the fuel economy as good as it would be on diesel? This is for a Kubota lawn mower.

  I have a low mileage 37K, 07 which runs at a very low engine temperature, never above the 75 deg required for DPF regen. I have had the garage replace the thermostat and they say the EGR thermostat is fine.  However, the garage run the engine with the car stationary and it gets to the 88-92 deg, however, once on the road/motorway high revs/low revs the car still stubbornly runs at a low temperature even after an hour.

  Im having a few problems with my rover 220 when its ticking over on idle. Some days it runs as smooth as a baby bum constantly at 1000 rpm then some other days like today it ticks over like its running on 3 cylinders at around 500 rpm down to 0 rpm it goes up and down like a yo yo and then stalls.

  After a local VW agent rebuilt the gearbox due to failed diff cluster bearings the noticed the throttle body to manifold rubber gasket was slit and changed same. Since this the engine feels a little rough both cold i.e. in choke mode and when running at normal temps the engine continues to feel slightly harse when on the cruise. The garage had rechecked the engine and run some diagnostics but no fault found. I've run a tank of loaded injection cleaner and different fuels.

  Every morning someone in our street leaves their car engine running for about 10 minutes. I think they do it to warm up the car, but it is very annoying....
