  • Ford Focus 1.6 LX - Petrol - 2006 Mk2 - Ford Focus intermittent transmission light showing 20 Nov 2018 (Forum)
The needles wobbles ever so slightly before the needles go to the positions to indicate the readings. 2) During the past month it seems the radio/clock light occasionally doesn't come on when I switch the headlights on. I have to turn the radio/clock on to get the radio/clock light to come on. This isn't normal and has only happened about 3 times in the last couple of months but may that's because I always have the radio on - if I didn't it may happen more often.

What do you think the government's current proposal* to push back the end of sales of new diesel and petrol cars (to 2035) will do to car prices? * I heard it on the 6 o'clock evening news on Radio 4 today.

  • Stale air rotting tyres? 9 Aug 2008 (Forum)
While listening to the radio the other day, a scientific discussion among motoring experts (alright, it was a factoid on Steve Wright in The Afternoon) advanced the opinion that tyres should be completely deflated every two years as the air in them had absorbed moisture and woud cause the tyre to degrade, thus shortening the life.
  • Ford - RDS 5000 vs. RDS 7000 13 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Does anyone know the difference between the RDS 5000 and the RDS 7000 (Ford OEM radios). The "Audio Guide" doesn't show any major differences apart from "high power" on the tape flap of the 7000 and an electronic tape eject on the 7000. Anyone know the power output difference? cheers

As per radio news today, soon lighting cig while driving will be an offence just like using mobile phone while driving. It also said that govt. is also considering whether to ban smoking altogether while driving.

  • James Whale for Mayor?? 25 Oct 2006 (Forum)
The Talksport ( 1053-1089) radio presenter looks likely he will stand for UKIP in the next London Mayoral elections - his main policy is the removal of the London Congestion charge- hooray- thus apart it would be worth voting for him just to break the stranglehold the traditional parties have over this country, whilst having very similar policies
  • Wobbly Rover Blaupunkt cassette 23 May 2006 (Forum)
My factory-fitted Rover Blaupunkt CC32 radio cassette player in my 25 IXL has developed "wow and flutter" symptoms on Side A and also emits a tape transport mechanism click. I've tried both wet and dry cleaning tapes to no avail. Side B plays perfectly.

  • IAM survey 31 May 2005 (Forum)
I heard on the radio this morning that an Institute of Advanced Motorists survey found that tailgating and the use of mobile phones were considered by most respondents to be the most dangerous bad habits of drivers. That's consistent with the poll on this Forum, I think.
  • A6 electrical oddity 6 Sep 2004 (Forum)
My 96 A6 has developed an odd fault which I hope isn't too exotic. It starts fine, but intermittently, I have electrical failure affecting everything bar the radio and hazards ie no indicators, air con, wipers etc. If i switch the engine off and fire it up again, everything is OK. Thoughts please.
  • Caravans to use a single lane... 14 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I heard on the radio this morning that the gov were intending to make caravans use a single lane on multiple lane carriageways. Putting aside the merits or otherwise of this loony idea. Hasn\'t this gov got better things to do with it\'s time than think up looney motoring related laws?
  • The Speed Camera Thread - Volume 23 28 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Radio 4\'s Today programme is broadcasting from Llandudno on Saturday. I didn\'t quite get what it is at, but it\'s something to do with Brunstrom and speed cameras. Think there may be some conferance on or something.
