Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - Brakes and disks worn out at 2yrs & 20k 27 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Hello, Our C-Max 2.0TDCi recently started suffering a grinding sound around the rear. It is the Ghia model with the electronic parking brake. Well it's gone to the garage and they have diagnosed that the rear brakes and disks are completely worn and want to replace them. Cost = £220. This seems a bit of a blow for a 2yr car with 20K on the clock. -

Civic Brakes sticking after washing. 4 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Hi I normaly leave my brakes off when garaging the car after washing to prevent them sticking. The last time I washed the car I forgot to leave them off, the car was in the garage for 3 days and when I tried to move the car they were well and truly stuck, I had to ease the clutch out 3 times before the brakes released themselves with a loud noise. -
Omega cruise control 2 Jan 2007 (Forum)
The brake lights failed on my Omega - diagnosed as a knackered brake light switch. On replacement, the cruise control no longer works. 1. I'm assuming a link (because of the effect touching the brakes has on CC, I assume they are related) 2. -
Omega brake pad warning - cause? 21 Sep 2005 (Forum)
What causes it to display the Brake Pads warning? (It isn't a wire running through the pads themselves apparently). Is this likely to be a spurious display? Should I worry? -
Jaguar Computer fault 27 Mar 2001 (Forum)
I have just bought a 3.6 jaguar sovereign, D registration, 113000 miles. The computer says that there is "Brake Falure" for the first 10 minutes of a trip and then goes out. The brakes are fine, even under heavy repeated application. Also the computer says "Bulb Falure" every time I apply the brake and then goes out till next braking. -

Mazda CX-30 - Brake fluid change 3 Apr 2025 (Forum)
I was just looking at last year's service sheet to see when the next one was due and noticed that the dealer recommended a brake fluid change at the next (this years) service. This will be the cars second service and it has done around 8000 miles. They are obviously trying it on aren't they? -

Ford Focus - Brake disc corrosion holes 24 Dec 2014 (Forum)
My brother-in-law has just had new brake discs fitted to his 2008 Ford Focus. The old ones had large deep pits in them. Was this corrosion or a manufacturing fault? Thanks (I'd post a picture but that doesn't seem possible) -
Hyundai i20 - Torque settings for brake calipers 5 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I have the workshop manual for Hyundai and I am looking at the torque settings for the front brake calipers. It gives the value for the pins as 21.6 ~ 31.4N.m. Why have they given a range rather than a fixed value? So what should it really be?!? -
Brake 25 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Whenever there is a road safety discussion on the radio (well BBC anyway) and TV the pressure group Brake is always invited on to comment, but why? It is obvious what their opinion will be, reduce speeds is their only solution to every motoring safety problem. The organisation is neither objective or offers any serious solutions so why are they taken so seriously by program makers? -
