Ford fiesta 1.3 1998 5 speed - Ford manual gear box 3 vertical mounting bolts 17 Dec 2015 (Forum)
Hello I have just bought a ford fiesta 1998 and I am very happy with it but I discovered under the boney just under the battery on top of the small part of the gear box I can see three bolt holes where I believe the top of the gearbox mounts to the engine bay and where these three holes are there are two studs with nuts on them but the other stud and bolt is missing and the last owner believed it wud be a great idea to stick a sharpie felt pen in the hole which I removed basically I would like someone to tell me what these studs are and if I can replace them these studs point vertical a little under the battery coming off the gearbox case. -

zafira 2004 gas petrol duel fuel - zafira 2004 wont start 23 Nov 2014 (Forum)
Today it wont start. the engine is not trying to tick over. when u turn the key there is nothing apart from the time display going out. The dashboard lights which remain on are the oil, battery, handbrake and engine light and the petrol light flashes even though my wife put £10 in on friday and done about 6 miles since. My initial thought was the battery but the head lights seem bright and the electric windows go up and down with no loss of speed. -

Mazda Tribute - Alarm reset 10 Apr 2012 (Forum)
Vehicle laid up over Xmas and New Year (3months) unfortunately battery was flat when we went to restart the car, recharged battery and everything was back to normal except the alarm which goes off everytime we lock the vehicle. On checking the manual Mazda suggest that the vehicle be taken to one of their main dealers who for a small sum will reprogramme the Key / Alarm. -
FIAT Punto II (1999 - 2006) - 00 1.2 engine cutting out 16 Feb 2012 (Forum)

Ford focus 2007 - Loss of power when braking 14 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Some times the revs will drop and the car will shudder slightly (almost as if the clutch isn't all the way down, when it is), sometimes the revs will drop and the battery light will flash on, and on a few occasions the revs have dropped and engine has completely cut out. Ford garage can't find any faults with it and haven't been able to replicate the fault. I managed to film the battery light flashing on and revs dropping which I showed them as evidence. -
Ford Escort 1.8 diesel van - Ford Escort Immobiliser 20 Nov 2011 (Forum)
Last weekend I did the same thing to have a look at the unit, put it back together and there were no problems. My problem is that now the van wont start. I checked the battery with a multi meter, thats fine. All the lights come on on the dash and everything but the motor wont turn over at all. The key moves all the way into position. I suspect that the problem is something to do with the immobiliser..... -
Toyota Avensis 2.4 TSpirit Auto (2004) - Toyota Satnav tns300 19 Aug 2011 (Forum)
I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the battery again and also removing the CD from the unit under the passenger seat and reinserting it but to no avail. I am afraid metric means nothing to me and I want miles and gallons back. I have the TNS300 manual and have followed the instructions to the letter. -
Peugeot 307 SW - Starting problem 15 Dec 2010 (Forum)
I have taken the car back to Peugeot who have run a diagnostic and the want me to spend Euros (i live in France) 850 for a new battery (even though I have already just done this) and an Vanne EGA (some sort of valve?), I don't believe they have found the problem as it is so intermittent and I will be wasting my money. Anyone else had a problem like this and found a solution?? -

Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 98 1.6 wont start 24 Oct 2009 (Forum)
had a look at my friends 306 as the electric windows wernt working, i disconnected the battery and began to search for the problem, i noticed a fuse had blown and a few wires had broken, i put in a new fuse and reconnected the wires and the windows worked fine. i then reconnected the battery and tried to start the car but it wouldnt go and the central locking had stopped working. i looked in my haines manual as i didnt no where to start i followed the instructions and cleaned and sprayed all the connections with wd40. i then took one of the plugs out came to find there was no spark. ive was told the immobiliser had shut and wasnt allowing the ecu to send power and cause a spark becuase the key wasnt being recognised. so i tried the spare but still no joy. just wondered if anyone had any idea as my friend is desperate for the car. many thanks. -
Mazda MX5 (1998-2005) - Putting laid-up car back on the road 19 Jan 2009 (Forum)
It's only had two oil changes in its' five years. She wouldn't let me change the oil or brake fluid before it was parked up. I disconnected the battery, pumped the tyres to around 45PSI and sprayed around with WD40 as a rodent deterrent as recommended here. I checked it around Christmas and put the battery on charge overnight. I didn't attempt to start it. -
Strange happenings: connected? 31 Jan 2008 (Forum)
On Saturday the house cordless phones were behaving oddly and needed to be reset by removing and replacing the batteries. My C8 wouldn't lock or unlock itself and I only restored normality after disconnecting the battery for an hour. Since then the engine characteristics have changed and it seems to have had 20bhp added to it. -
Renault Clio - Alarm keeps going off 27 Jan 2007 (Forum)
My Clio seems to have an alarm/immobiliser problem. Last week, since the battery was dead (not having used the car for 2 months) I removed it and recharged it and reconnected it today. Everything seemed to be fine until after about a minute after opening the door, the alarm went off. -
Vectra Alarm/Fob advice needed please 21 Jan 2007 (Forum)
This is making excellent reading, I purchased a second hand N-reg 2.0 litre Vectra and i am having problems with the fob/Alarm...The fob is very tempremental and only sometimes seemed to work up to now...If the car is locked i would have to open it with the key which would always set the alarm off...I have replaced battery and its not that...Local vauxhall dealer looked at it and said they had fixed it (never thought to ask exactly what they did but they never charged me so im assuming they just changed battery and got lucky)...It worked fine for the rest of the day then when i went to get in it this morning after it had been sat outside since thursday it would not unlock with the fob again...I have just tried the reprogramming advice and it seems to be working now again but will this happen again or should it now be fixed, any ideas folks??... -
2003 Mondeo TDCi Dashboard 12 May 2006 (Forum)
My LCD odometer is still only showing dashes and the speedo is not working. Once home I checked the battery with the engine off and it read 12.85v; fairly normal I thought. I've yet to check any fuses, thought I make a post of my symptoms first. Any help appreciated. -
95 Mondeo TD Starting Probs 12 Jan 2006 (Forum)
When attempting to start there is a strong smell of diesel. Could it be that the battery or starter motor does not have enough power to kick the engine into life?? Yesterday after multiple attempts it did start and when running it was absolutley fine, once warm it could be stopped and started again first time. -
immobiliser is too effective! 11 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Eventually, someone told me to try disconnecting the battery, then reconnecting, and turning the key to ignition position and leaving it there for at least 6 minutes. Then take out and retry starting the car. This procedure helps the key learn the car again, whatever that means. -
Scenic driving me - or not - nuts 24 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I've noticed others have had problems with Renaults that look similar. I've checked and cleaned the battery connections but this has had no effect. Does anyone have any other suggestions ?
