Ford Focus MK1 - Changing Rear Section of Brake Cable 28 Jul 2019 (Forum)
I need to change just the rear part of one of the brake cables. The part which attaches to the brake shoes and exits the back plate and then joins with the rest of the hand brake cable. The problem is where it joins with the rest of the brake cable via a metal sleeve. -
Is it okay to paint brake calipers? 27 Mar 2018 (Ask HJ)

All automatics and DSG - Left foot braking automatics pointless & dangerous 7 Jul 2016 (Forum)
I'm very upset by articles advocating left foot braking in two-pedal cars, ESPECIALLY by the older generation. My father, who is now 84 and has in the past 10 years only driven DSG cars, has taken up this practice (for some reason I cannot talk him out of) and as a passenger, I can tell you it's a genuinely horrible experience; lousy control, jerky braking, sudden stops, occasional ABS activation for no good reason, actually hitting objects at low speed from time to time, and all because of poor brake control. -

My dealer says that the rear brake calipers on my 2012 diesel Honda Civic are worn and may need replacing at a cost of about £1000. Can this be possible... -

Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 1999 1.8 Front brake noise 11 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Now when I drive the car either first thing in the day or initally after it has sat for a while and apply the brakes, I notice some squeaking from the brakes which seems to disappear once I have driven a mile or so. Do you think this is normal and if not should I go back to the garage again ?? Thanks ps Do you think the calipers need attention -
Renault Modus / Alfa brera recalls 24 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Renault has found that the electrical switch operating the brake lights can melt, causing overheating of the floor around the pedals, the release of smoke into the passenger compartment and the failure of the brake lights. Alfa Romeo is contacting the owners of 51 Brera coupes manufactured between June and August 2006. -
Renault Megane - squeaky brakes 4 Mar 2003 (Forum)
"Don't worry Sir, they are safe, but will squeal under light braking until the lower edge of the pads wear to the contour of the disc". Well, the brakes do work fine - but they do squeal under light braking. I've now done 900 miles since the job was done. Most of my current driving is motorway BTW - I don't know if this makes any difference. -
Look, no brakes. 12 Feb 2002 (Forum)
I went for the full all-singing all-dancing wash with added gusto and vim. Imagine my surprise when I left the place and went to brake for the next turning. I'd have stuffed someone up the backside (oo-er!) if it had been a traffic queue rather than merely slowing for a turn. No brakes at all for a second or two (i.e. an eternity of panic time). -

Vauxhall Agila rear brake valve. 30 Jul 2014 (Forum)
Further to the posting on the thread started by KathyD, can anyone please advise if the valve in the rear braking system which compensates for the weight of back seat passengers and luggage, is a separate item or would you have to break into the hydraulics to remove/service it? Thank you. -
