  hi, what could be the reason for the revs to drop from about 950rpm to 500rpm when i put the lights or the heater blower on full, faulty alternator or battery or both?

  How can a friend of mine go about re-mobilising his Scorpio without the key-fob? He changed the car battery & the immobiliser came on & without the key-fob, it wont start. Any help appreciated

  I noticed the car was a little sluggish starting and this got worse to the point where it started great when cold but couldn't start when hot (symptoms just like a dead battery - sluggish turning over and not firing). If I left the car to cool down it would start no problem. I bought a new battery with more oomph and fitted a new 2.2KW starter instead of the 1.6KW starter.

   No one was available to discuss this today and she has been informed they will be in touch on Monday to discuss this further. Questions - is it a well known fact that Renaults should never be jump started using a battery from a 'donor' car or battery pack?  If this is something that is well known how likely are the roadside assistance company to try and claim this is not the case and avoid picking up the bill for repair / replacment of the car?

  After doing some research, it could be the cooling system going into safe mode so was going to check the thermostat, engine temperature sensor and water pump. When I was about to do this (about two weeks after calling the RAC out), I noticed that the battery warning light comes on now (this didn't happen before). I used a meter across the battery terminals which showed it was not charging. When I leave the engine running with all the lights etc on, I can see the voltage of the battery dropping.

  I have a 2003 Saxo Desire 1.5D, and over the past few days I have been unable to start it. First of all there was life in the Battery (only 3mths old) - Now Flat - even doing a jumpstart does'nt get the car to start. (theres about 5litres of Diesel in it) Got a Jump start 5-1 thingy, connected that up - Turned key - Battery, Engine Auto Diagnosis light flash, and it starts to click rapidly - Also the fuel needle doesnt budge (I know theres fuel in it).
