Beware Car Supermarkets 30 Nov 2001 (Forum)
We all want cars at the same price as Europeans but car supermarkets and personal imports are not the answer because right-hand drive cars for other markets are usually lower specification, The only answer is to remove the block exemption and remove fleet discounts, which are still up to 25%. -

Seeking advice : Want to start a muscle car import business 16 Feb 2017 (Forum)
My questions briefly are: Is the market already too crowded with too many importers? Am I just going to get myself into trouble? How big is the market? What's a realistic annual figure of units to shift? What kind of pre-tax profit margin can I expect to make on a business like this? -

Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Importing a previously registered UK car 5 Aug 2010 (Forum)
It was never registered in Greece, as it was over 10 years old and could not be registered. So how do I go about driving it back and re-importing the car, while staying legal and insured along the way? I'm under the impression that I'll need to get it re-registered in the UK to allow me to tax and insure it for the journey back, but I can't get tax without an MOT, and I can't get an MOT without it being in the UK. -
Do people actually CARE about their driv 17 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Is this lack of technique? I wonder if the problem is more to do with people not seeing driving as an important activity , it's just what you do between work and home or between seeing your customers .So it's not important to be good at it , and as it's dead time anyway you might as well shoehorn in some other activity at the same time. -

VW Service Intervals 13 Apr 2004 (Forum)
I've been to my local VW dealer to confrm the above and see when it will need to be serviced - he took a strange amount of pleasure in telling me that as it was an import he could not tell whether it was set up on long life servicing even though he checked VW's database (nice to know the dealers have been feeling the pinch because of imports eh?). All in all he was not very helpful. -
