2013 Ford Fiesta1.6 Zetec Powershift - Ford Powershift Gearbox Noises 13 Jan 2015 (Forum)
From two weeks after taking delivery of my secondhand Fiesta automatic there were "clunking" noises coming from the engine compartment at slow speeds (10-20mph) from a cold start. Seven visits to my local Ford Dealer and examination by Ford Technical and software updates have not identified or solved the problems. -
Mitsubishi Mirage 2014 - Are they really as bad as the reviews make out 14 Oct 2014 (Forum)
I really like the idea of a 1.2l petrol engine that doesn't cost anything on road tax (even in automatic form) that is also really light weight. The downsides are that it drives terrible and is noisy (engine and road noise). I did pass one in today and can say it looks better than the pictures suggest. -
Why do some autos roll back on a hill? 11 Oct 2014 (Forum)
I've had a few cars with standard automatic gearbox. Some of them will hold the car still on a hill at idle, but other's won't. Examples: Mercedes W202 2.4 V6 holds, Jaguar S-Type 3.0 v6 holds, Honda CRV 2.0 I4 rolls back. With the cars that hold, it's not a mechnical holding device because if the hill is steep enough it will roll back, but it will hold still on moderate hills. -
Ford Focus - Full disclosure when selling my car? 30 Jul 2014 (Forum)
I'm trying to sell my automatic Focus (78k miles), having never sold a car before. I've had it for 2 1/2 years, and have only had one issue - the gearbox went and I had to get a replacement (from a 40k car) put in by a specialist. -
Audi A4 - Motorway mileage 15 Apr 2014 (Forum)
I drive a Audi A41.9 TDI, 55plate, Automatic, from new running at 187K, with 90% motorway mileage in past 4 years (did 100K in 4 years). Runs well but has been bit expensive with 1K repair each year at least and change of tyres Mileage is only 36/gallon, I dont necessarily stay at 70-75, if I did it would be 42-46 Would it really save me good deal if I buy anothet 1.8-2 litrecar petrol or diesel? -
Thanks to technology, we no longer see... 13 Apr 2014 (Forum)
My prediction is that ignition keys , the clutch pedal and handbrake will all but disappear from mainstream cars within five years; conversely turbochargers, cruise control with automatic braking and HID lights will become universal. -

need a small run around pool car 14 Nov 2013 (Forum)
It strikes me that Yaris Hybrid might do the trick. We are also looking at something small, preferably 5dr and also possibly automatic. The Up/Mii/Citigo clones have an ASG gearbox. Anyone have any better ideas? -
FIAT 500 - Returned a new car V5C is in my name? never owned 4 Nov 2013 (Forum)
I am in a very strange situation with a new car I bought. I ordered an automatic Fiat 500 and a month later got a call from the dealer that the car is ready to pick up. Arranged the insurance and asked them to register it which they did. When I went to the dealership and went throught the paperwork and paid the money suddenly they found that the car is manual and I refused to collect it. -
Honda CRV 2.0i VTEC ES - Any Advice 18 Oct 2013 (Forum)
After much agonising over what dog friendly car to buy i finally put a deposit down on a 2 year old CRV petrol automatic. Having read all the reviews i found the car to be smooth, pretty good on acceleration and very comfortable. Sure the plastics are so, so inside but it did feel a great car and very spacious. -
Any - Replacement car 8 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Budget wise it needs to be in the region of £12 £13 k,either new or nearly new . It needs to be a smallish petrol automatic ,with a high driving position ,she's in her 80s and surprisingly still enjoys driving .But has difficulty getting out of a conventional car . The insurance company have loaned her a 2012 fiesta auto which seems a good little car to drive ,but its seating position is to low . -
First Car 11 Jan 2013 (Forum)
I have another issue in that I have a permanently injured left ankle. I really want to avoid getting an automatic, but I am conscious that if a clutch is too heavy it might cause me undue pain. Cheers in advance. -
Which car to buy suggestions -£7k 24 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Hi I'll be buying a car in the next couple of months and I was hoping for some suggestions. i'm looking for an automatic, five door hatchback for around £7,000. I drive at least 60 miles a day to work in a round trip which can take around 2-3 hours in total so I'm thinking something which doesn't give a really hard ride. -
