BMW Mini - The end of the road for the manual gearbox 23 Sep 2023 (Forum)
With news that the new mini will only be available in auto format does this herald the end of the road for the manual gearbox ? A latecomer to auto driving, I’ve taken to it 100% maybe down to having one coupled to a V6 diesel engine which gives effortless performance. -

Will classic Mini ever return? 25 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Or are they holding onto the design rights purely for the name, so they can continue making those abominations, the MINI. -
Mini vs Mustang 22 Apr 2005 (Forum)
On 'Modern Antiques' tonight, Alan Titchmarsh and James May drew comparisons between the original Mini and the Steve McQueen/Bullitt Ford Mustang. Which was the better car, they asked the studio audience. Seems to me there's no contest. Could the Mustang (with or without McQueen) have done The Italian Job? -
Next Mini to be powered by Peugeot 18 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I see BMW are going to fit Peugeot engines in the next Mini which is to be launched in 2006. One questions how much further they are prepared to lower their technical integrity to achieve ever higher profit margins in order to appease their company accountants. -
BMW/Mini Market Share 9 Nov 2002 (Forum)
My local BMW dealer has infomed me today, that the combined BMW & Mini sales totals for September equate to 36% of the U.K. market share for that month. This figure seems extremely high to me & I was wondering if any BR`s can confirm the verity of this statement?? -

MINI Hatch - is it reliable? 31 Dec 2022 (Forum)
It's fun, and overall a pretty good car, but from what I've read the MINI is one of the best when it comes to fun, as well as having a funky interior. However, I've read a few comments on here implying that MINIs are unreliable. Is that the case? It would be reassuring if it was, as hopefully the Mazda won't give me much trouble (famous last words!). -
Mini one D - Broken cam shaft chain 15 Sep 2018 (Forum)
Hi Can I ask about my mini that broke down and was taken to the mini garage I have used to regularly service my car. It has 120000 on the clock and is 7 years old. The garage told me they would charge £500 to take a look at the engine and confirm the cam shaft chain is broken but found parts of it in the engine. -

MINI Convertible - Mini run flat tyres 16 Sep 2012 (Forum)
My daughter's mini (56 reg) was supplied with run flat tyres. They were replaced about 2 years ago. I recently found one of the tyres to be loosing pressure, so she took the car to a tyre fitting company for investigation. -
Mini Cooper - Mini Cooper Remote Key. 17 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I assumed the key was not charging in the ignition because I only do short drives and a 20-30 mile long drive once a week. During Xmas, I had a dead car battery so changed it over. This hasn't rectified the problem. Mini have said it sounds as if I need a new key and it re-coding, however, will do a diagnostic test first. I know they're going to cost me £120+ for this. Is there anywhere I can get a remote key from, other than the main dealer? -

Austin (Rover) Mini (1972 - 2001) - 94 1275 Mini, Cutting out intermittently 30 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Hi... my mate has a mini 1275 1994 model with an intermittent cutting out issue... It will be fine for say 10-15 miles and lets say you come up to a roundabout and need to slow down... you put the clutch in and the engine dies... sometimes when you turn the key it will fire no issues... -
Time to sell the MINI? 27 Jul 2004 (Forum)
So should we sell now and make the most of the residuals or do we keep hold of it as the values are unlikely to drop all that steeply. Lee. PS - was in a convertible (MINI) the other week and for some reason there's less leg room in the front - the seats don't go as far back as the rear seats have a longer bottom, if you see what I mean. -- Lee MINI adventure in progress -
ZX and MINI 5 Jan 2002 (Forum)
The following was posted on the Citroen BX board the other day. In the light of the Cars of the Year success of the MINI and the ZX (as a bargain banger), I thought it might be of interest: >just to add next door has had a new Bmw mini for a month and it refused to >start today, two 'rapid response' teams where here for 8 hours and had most >of the interior out in my garage and still it wouldn't go, its going to HQ in >special transport (hidden undercover inside a recovery truck) for further >investigations , a courtesy car arrived another mini towed on a trailer by a >ZX 1.9td , so they do have there uses and if there [sic] used by BMW to >move there [sic] trash let Citroen move yours.......... -
Mini Cooper F56 (9/14 reg) - Brake pad replacement Mini Cooper F56 17 Jun 2017 (Forum)
Just been charged £528 by Mini main dealer (Sytner) to replace front and rear pads at 20K miles. Pads only, NOT pads and discs. Mini service website quotes the same job on previous models (2009-2013) at £220 (£115 front, £105 rear) ...under the "value service" section.
