It's such a good car!

This is my second Tesla model 3. The first one was a USA made car, also a SR+ whereas my new car was made in China. This car is so much better put together than my first Model 3. Everything is perfect and I have had no issues with the car.

This car came with additions that were not on my first car such as, heat pump, double glazed side windows, matrix style head lights, power boot, boom box speaker and most importantly the newer LFP battery. My first model 3 had NCA battery that you should only charge to 80 - 90% each day and when new had a indicated 235 mile range. After 1 year it indicated a range of 214 miles due to degradation, but charging only to 80% indicated only171 miles (or 140 real world miles).

My new car can be charged each day to 100% and had a indicted range of 263 miles (or a real world range of 210 miles). Being retired, its good to make an impromptu trip if the weather is nice and having a full charge every morning makes this possible. Also I have found the LFP battery has much less degradation and so far I have only lost 1 mile indicated range after 5 months use!

Driving the car is a joy, as you mainly do that using "one pedal driving" and hardly have to use the brake pedal. Acceleration is rapid and there is no delay between pushing the pedal and the car accelerating. Driving on motorways using Autopilot is very relaxing and takes the strain out of long journeys, particularly at night of in bad weather.

Another good thing about this car is the low running costs of approximately £20/month to drive 1,000 miles using Octopus GO 0.05p/kw off-peak electricity. Added to this saving is zero car tax and regular servicing is NOT required. I estimate I'm saving over £2,000 year in running costs. 4 years warranty (8 years on battery & motor) give peace of mind.

I would have preferred a hatchback (and the model Y is too big for me) but actually the car handles my everyday needs as it has plenty of storage space.

The one thing I do not like it the alloys extend past the tyres so it's super easy to get curb rash if you are not careful. I recommend anyone interested in going EV take a test drive with Tesla. They are not pushy sales people and you will not be under a high pressure sales environment like some other makes.

Edit: I'm now at 24,000 miles (March 24) and the car has just been getting better with all the over-the-air updates. Long term efficiency has been 240 wh/mile, over 3 winters and 2 summers. Just replaced the tyres and there has been no other issues or expenses.
