Shock !

I said I'd never buy a Renault or any french make because of the nightmare electrics!
I did a lot of research , the gist of which is that Renault finally got it right with the Laguna Mk3.
The car so far has exceeded all expectations. The 2.0dci engine engine is a beauty , powerfull , smooth and economic to run. 50mpg is easy to obtain. I was after the 3.0 dci V6 , but they are like hen's teeth , as Renault UK decided in 2012 not to continue the Laguna in the UK. It's a pity as most don't know how good it really is. Which means you get a heck of a lot of car for humble money. I had two Mondeo's ST tdci's which I loved , but this thing is way , way better in every way, well maybe not quite as sharp handling in the bends, but not bad either. The cabin layout and equipment in the Initiale ( which has everything) puts the Ford's to shame.
I've only had 79 cars from 1976, Mercs, BMW's even yanks, but this is a car I didn't expect to fall in love with. In fact it was a stopgap after a £5000 repair bill for a 2009 Vauxhall Astra TwinTOP 1.9 tdi 150bhp with only 36K miles on original engine, which blocked the DPF and blew the turbo wrecking the engine in the process. No more Vauxhall's with faulty designed DPF's, which Vauxhall are well aware of . Just google it! They can't cope with 12 miles per day commutes.
Ownership has only been 12 weeks , but this car is a keeper.
