Overall reliability

Superb - question mark on reliability.

All the things that the press say are basically true for the Macan - practical, reasonably fun and not too punishing at the fuel pumps - I average 35 mpg over 18 months and have completed over 30,000 miles in that time.
Reliability is a concern: Two failed wheel bearings, one failed adblue pump, one failed washer motor, side panel more or less dropped off. All fixed under extended warranty. Dealer is OK, but nothing to write home about. They're very focussed on looking pretty, but less focussed on being on time and they don't give two hoots about being on cost!
Top marks go to comfort. I live in Scotland but travel all over the UK. Our winter weather can be quite challenging but the Macan doesn't get phased by bad weather including high winds. Stability and handling are spot on. The diesel engine's grunt is rather a super thing to be sat on, and although I drive like grandad the car goes a lot faster than I need it to!
Recommend one? Hmm, depends... They're expensive to buy and they should not be considered cheap to run - but the diesel (in particular, I also have a petrol Macan) goes well and is very comfortable for long journeys.
