Breathtaking

I have an AMG from Benz to compare to. I now get why Porsche is about the driving dynamics. Suspension is firm, the car does not float on road undulations in its most relaxed setting. I can feel the road. The car does not patter in bumpy road. Pattering is an un-atoned sin in the AMG. I can place the coupe exactly where I want it to go and it obeys. It deletes corners. I corner with my foot pressing into the peddle. With the AMG, I do not have that confidence. The cabin is exquisitely well appointed. The knobs and push buttons on the seat and elsewhere are firm, premium feel with no play. In the AMG, the the cabin is also well appointed, but the buttons have play and feel loose and less premium. The word I have for the engine and the ‘fun’ button on the steering wheel is ‘ignorant’. This isn’t for teenagers or young adults. You can hurt yourself or others playing with that kind of fire. But the cabin is freakishly quiet. Some cons: The car is not a town hauler, the steering feels too heavy for stop and go traffic. You can feel the weight of the car around town. This beast wants to breathe outside the city. You can literally watch the gas gauge draining. But it’s better than the AMG. Anyway, if you have Porsche money, price of gas is not a priority. The infotainment system. Breathtaking. But it does require eyes off the road. This thing wasn’t cheap to acquire and it won’t be cheap to keep it well fed. However, the care and feeding are around the same for MB if not a few dollars more. Seats are plush but on the firm side and support very well. Surprisingly, the insurance rate was reasonable. Reasonable as in on the pricey side but ok for premium SUVs. Sitting space is more than adequate and boot space is not an issue for the target audience, who likely have more than one car. Club leathEr is something magnificent to behold. This is really a toy for the weekend, not for grocery runs. If you can’t identify with that, go see a benz dealer.
