Overall reliability

A good all round workhorse, comfortable, spacious, reliable, economical and well equipped.

I bought a one year old 12 plate Perodua Myvi on the strength of being driven up and down Welsh hills with 4 up, by a former senior aero-engine designer at Rolls-Royce in Derby. He’d owned a Daihatsu Sirion previously, having assessed it’s design, interior space and performance. Originally, it was our second car, but following our move to West Sussex we sold our X-Trail and the Myvi has proved to be more than adequate for all our needs, including visits to family in Germany, holidays in France and remote parts of the UK. We achieved 48/50 mpg on our last visit to Germany. It has air-con, electric windows and mirrors. The rear seats easily fold flat for bulky items. Our local garage, PD Motors in Billingshurst, find no difficulty in obtaining parts and have just replaced front discs and pads for £170.00. Also, the Toyota engine has a chain cam drive. Perodua dealers, Summit Garage in Dudley, have been very forthcoming with information on occasions, for instance, details of paint specs and supplying a second zapper with advice about programming. It’s a shame they are no longer imported.
