Overall reliability

Excellent car with superb fuel economy.

I bought this car having previously run 2 x Mercedes ML. I was attracted to this as an alternative because of its smaller size, but still having easy access.
The performance of the car is more than adequate: there are 4 settings of the engine management system available that enable me to choose from ultimate economy settings to Sport+. In Sport or Sport+ the car is very swift and the suspension is also firmed up to cope with that performance.
The economy of this car cannot be faulted: on my annual trip to France last year with the car fully laden with luggage and fuel, the computer showed 65mpg during the journey! I do follow Honest John's advice and use only Shell V-Power diesel when possible.
Although the car has keyless start capability, I have removed the 'start' button so that the key must be inserted to start the car. This is as a precaution against theft of the car. Procedure is explained in the owner manual, as is the ability to 'switch off' the key's transmitter as an extra precaution.
I am very happy with this car in regard to comfort, quietness, build quality, service back-up and economy. Both Car Tax and insurance charges are very low.
