Overall reliability

Superb on motorways, comfortable round town.

On my third C207 E350 with nearly 100k travelled. Supremely comfortable and capable with more than enough torque to make any journey pass quickly. 9 speed box really good. Back seats seldom used so prolonged wait for the powered front seats to move forward to afford access does not matter.

Some reliability quirks on first car - timing chain rattle at about 90k. Maintenance items only on second aside from a broken spring. Present one with 22k miles when purchased keeps flashing on the amber engine warning. Dealer has repaired twice and replaced Ad blue injector and NOX sensor. In tomorrow for third light appearance. Such are issues of buying a second hand car even with full dealer service history. Bought from one dealer but I use Merc Harrogate for maintenance and cannot fault them.
One unhappiness. The car was originally sold with three years free mapping update. So I assumed that mapping would be 2020 at the earliest but supplying dealer and Merc say it is for the owner to request updat and he never did. So I am landed with 2016 mapping. Awaiting release of new mapping rather than paying for 18 to 20 month old version.
