Just glorious driving fun

The sportscar i never treated myself to until the kids had fledged the nest and retirement loomed, wish i’d done it years ago, no more family wagons, no more sensible saloons - just unadulterated fun!
Whether it’s a summer jaunt round swinging country lanes, a mountaineering trip to the cairngorms or heading out for a boot full of shopping this car is always a pleasure to drive.
Foot down and manage the gear shifts well and she growls off ahead of traffic, gentle and cruise the highways and she purrs along eating up the miles and sipping fuel in a rather surprisingly economical way. Ive just done Manchester - Northampton - Manchester on a mix of motorway and winding country roads, that last bit just for driving pleasure, then noted that i was at 60.1 mpg all round!

My only other surprise was how tyre sensitive this can can be, nice set of softer compound Yokohamas and she takes on every corner, switch to a slightly less expensive harder compound tyre and there’s a distinct inclination for the back end to step out. Lesson learned, buy the good sports tyres!

Are there niggles, yes of course but i see them as necessary design compromises - no front fogs, no real glovebox, no space to lift left knee and only for those of us under 6’2”
