I love every aspect of this car

I’ve driven Citroen and the new DS brand for many years going back to the Citroen CX. So you could say I will be bias towards my latest purchase.

I wanted the La Premier model as it has almost every conceivable extra available, all I’m missing is the sunroof which to me isn’t any real loss.

The looks inside and out are exceptional and do stand out from the competition and to be honest you don’t see many around and you do stand out from the crowd. The welcome from the light when you open her up is very unusual and as far as I’m aware no other brand has a feature like this, at night there are 7 different light setting all of which are fully automatic, they highlight the curbs and bends on country roads and dip when you approach another car from behind or if another car comes your way. I have yet to dazzle an oncoming driver.

I have had several friend that couldn’t believe the finish or look of the interior from the ruby red watch strap seats to the 12” touch screen and digital dash that you can customise to you heart’s content. The night vision which highlights people and animal long before you see them is a unique feature that really works. The Lane assist also works well and when combined with the radar and cruise control make motorway driving relaxing, just remember to indicate before overtaking or the Lane assist will try and stop you crossing the white lines!

The 2.0 Blue HDi is returning an average of 49 mpg at the moment and for an SUV of its size I’m happy with. On a motorway only trip it is well over the 55 mpg.

I haven’t had any real problems yet. Had to go for a ECU update to fix a Adblue problem. The system didn’t recognise that the Adblue had been topped up and thought it was about to run out. No big problem only took my local DS Salon 30 minutes while I waited.

All in all a very happy driver apart from the extra TAX you have to pay because of the new cost of the car. But that the government’s fault not DS Automobiles.
