Peugot 206 - Excel Parking fine Crown Point Leeds - TraceyJG

I recently parked on Crown Point in Leeds - where I parked for three hours. I left the site initially to go into town and then came back and shopped on the site.

I was issued with a parking fine of £60 for leaving the site - this was issued 15 minutes after I arrived with the reason of 'left site' I have ignored the fine thus far and was sent a reminder and a demand for £100.

I am sure this is not right as I came back and used the shops on site .. and since I left the site straightaway how did they know 15 minutes later I had left site and then also how do they know I didnt come back and use the shops on site which I did.....

What should I do? thanks for any help.

There will be a sign with conditions on it i.e. for use by shoppers at Crown point or similar. You left the site thus you will have broken the rules.

So its simple in my book, pay up or go to court. If you had followed the rules you would not have got a ticket.

How many more of these posts do we need to endure.

Its simple If you break the law/rules you risk a fine

What was the heading on the ticket?

PENALTY CHARGE NOTICE - if so pay, or

PARKING CHARGE NOTICE - if so read:

which should give you an idea.

Bear in mind the time approaches when this later action will not be available.

Thank you for your reply and for the information posted it is very helpful. I think that since I did leave the car park even for a short time it may be best to offer to pay a nominal fee as it seems to me that £100 is far too high and not comenserate with their losses. Would you agree?

thanks

Either pay up or ignore it. Once you enter into a correspondence of any sort you could be seen as having admitted some guilt and/or liability. The worst of these people have been known to "scan" your signature and paste it into a letter purporting to to be from you and that sort of thing. IMO this is something which is black or white with no grey. Pay or totally ignore

You do not risk a fine. Only a court of law can sisue and enforce a fine. Read what the learned DVD has posted and decide your course of action. You have been given an invoice, inviting you to pay a sum of money to some enforcement spivs and you don't have to pay

It is simple in my book too - pay up or ignore it.
