BMW X3 - X3 Winter Tyres - jonsie

Hi,

I have the new model X3 (F25) and the dealer is unable to provide a leadtime on winter tyres.

A local supplier has offered me an authorised BMW set, but looks like for the old model.

Current tyres: 225/60 R17

The size offered is 235/55 R17

Is this likely to be a problem? Customer Service line just reads the parts list out (which is not the same).

Unless the old size is Type-Approved for the new model and listed in the owners manual, your insurer probably won't like it.

Insurers accepting winter tyres not being a modification depends on using the correct specification, ie size.
